World War I is Over

The Great War has ended, Germany has laid down their arms and given into the 3 demands that Wilson promised them would result at a seat at the peace table. It was a lie. Britain and France want revenge and retribution, Wilson wanted his 14 points, and Vittorio Orlando wanted to have learned English. The Treaty of Versailles is signed in June of 1919, America never even signs the treaty. 10 million men have died across Europe, for what many believe to be nothing, the Lost Generation and Lost War sentiment is spreading across Europe. Your job is to write 2 real paragraphs about how you feel about the war, do you think the peace was fair, what do you wish was different, or what else would you have done. (Keep in mind your characters beliefs). Also write a bit about your hopes for yourself and your country over the next few years.

Also watch this movie from 38 minutes to the end and write 1 thing that happened in each of the following countries after the war...

-United States

-Russia

-Germany

-also mention how did the veterans of WWI feel about the war in 2002 (in this video)

The End is in Sight

The end is in sight! The Great War appears to be coming to a close; the only question is who is going to win? Russia has left the war after Lenin and the Bolshevik takeover in November 1917, Italy is losing land in the Alps, the Ottomans are being broken apart like a cookie. It looks like Germany could win, they are launching unrestricted submarine warfare, and Ludendorff is launching a massive offensive in the Western front to try and win before American get troops to Europe. Write a response on what has changed from the start of the war and what the state of Europe and your country is in now as of 1917. (A solid 2 paragraphs or more and one response 3-5 sentences to another post)

Topics you can write about, but feel free to write about anything relevant:

-Propaganda and government control during WWI

-What’s going on in America Unrestricted U-boat warfare, sinking of Lusitania, Zimmerman telegram

-Russia has left the war and signed the treaty of Brest-Litovsk, Lenin has taken over.

-Germany is launching their last all out offensive, hoping America will take too long to get to Europe.
