World War I is Over

The Great War has ended, Germany has laid down their arms and given into the 3 demands that Wilson promised them would result at a seat at the peace table. It was a lie. Britain and France want revenge and retribution, Wilson wanted his 14 points, and Vittorio Orlando wanted to have learned English. The Treaty of Versailles is signed in June of 1919, America never even signs the treaty. 10 million men have died across Europe, for what many believe to be nothing, the Lost Generation and Lost War sentiment is spreading across Europe. Your job is to write 2 real paragraphs about how you feel about the war, do you think the peace was fair, what do you wish was different, or what else would you have done. (Keep in mind your characters beliefs). Also write a bit about your hopes for yourself and your country over the next few years.

Also watch this movie from 38 minutes to the end and write 1 thing that happened in each of the following countries after the war...
-United States
-Russia
-Germany
-also mention how did the veterans of WWI feel about the war in 2002 (in this video)

  1. So the war to end all wars is finished. Germany has some pretty harsh punishments even though it's not all their fault, America's league of nations is probably not going to work, and Russia, who ducked out of the war early, is now in civil war. What is happening? I may not agree with all of Woody Wilson's ideas but his 14 points were pretty good. I can see where the league of nations would lead us astray but Britain and France, come on! By giving Germany such steep and harsh punishments, you are not only crippling them but oppressing them. When you oppress people they rise up in a fiery anger! I don't want another war but I can tell you right now, there's going to be another war starting with Germany. You cut their country down, made them pay money they obviously don't have, and worst of all, they don't have a seat at the peace table. Britain and France, you really screwed the pooch on this one.

    10 million of our boys have just died for nothing. Honestly, what did we gain from this war? We came in at the tail end and helped clean up, but for what? Turn down for what you ask? TURN DOWN FOR WWI. Think of all the boys who won't have a future, a family, and their bodies won't return home. This truly is the lost generation. The only thing I can really home for moving on from this, is that when there is another war, we don't get in on it fighting wise. Usually I would complain about my wife but I'm too depressed. She's in the kitchen making me sandwiches that will not go to a good cause now. Well, there's not much to really say besides BOO BRITAIN AND FRANCE, BOOO.

    2. I want you to know, from the bottom of my heat, that your boys died because of something. That something, was your own stupidity. I mean really, the former Austrian-Hungarian empire, need I repeat myself, empire could have handled a simple little Slovak country like Serbia. But no, you Germans had to go sticking your mustaches, your awful looking mustaches where they didn't belong. So you deserve all the bad things you got coming your way.
      P.S, I Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot am still upset about the mermaids.

      BWUAAhAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAAAA!!!!! AAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAA! You Europeans are sooooo pathetic I swear! Complaining how 'awful' it was! BAH! We ALL know Britain messed up as soon as they made food contraband, Angelique didn't get her chocolates for a good year and I had the misfortune of dealing with an angered French-American (THANKS A LOT ZWONIK!) Anyhow, continue your silly arguments. It's enjoyable to have something to laugh about now that the war has come to a terrible close.

    4. After the toll this war has taken on Germany I don't think they will be instigating another war anytime soon. They disassembled their entire government to change it, kicked out their king and now they owe absurd amounts of money all for something that they didn't even get in the end of it all. I do agree with you on the fact that they would be mad because who wouldn't be when they got all the blame put on them when it shouldn't have been. But why would they ever want to add onto that with the potential threat of loosing another war and facing the consequences of the war. Doesn't make sense to me.

    5. WHY DOES EVERYONE THINK IM EUROPEAN???? IM AMERICAN!!!!

      Delete
  2. I know that Germany lost and it only seems fair that to the victor goes the spoils but I think that even the great country of France may have messed up and gone a little bit overboard on the punishment of Germany. I mean come on, Orlando left and no one considered that maybe Germany could have filled the seat? I know that while the war was going on I wasn’t nicest to you Germans but I have to give you credit for holding your own out there. We’re all European here, except for you America but you’ve gone and isolated yourselves again, so why can’t we just all try and make this league of nations thing work, but don’t be expecting to get back what we rightfully won. On the other hand, what the heck is going on with Russia dragging themselves out of one war only to throw themselves into another? Where’d your logic come from on that? We really need to consider figure out a way to work this out better so this doesn’t happen again because that treaty is going to end up a big joke if someone(cough cough Germany cough cough) decides they don’t like how things are running around here.
    I’d really like to know what America was thinking, too. Wilson made his big push for the League of Nations and meanwhile most of the rest of the country doesn’t really care for ANY of the ideas him and the rest of the diplomats came up with on this treaty, way to go Wilson first you run for office on a promise of peace only to join a war then after said war you promise Germany a seat at the peace table if they do three things, two of which end badly for them, and don’t even bother to make sure there’s enough seats? And then you completely screw them over with the treaty (we helped with that)? And now that we have experienced an extremely futile war maybe we just might be able to keep it from happening again.

    PEACE YO!!! THE WARS OVER!!! Germany surrendered, the treaty was signed, and now, finally, we're at peace. The whole damn war has been pointless. Like, seriously what is it we accomplished?
    We showed everyone Britain's better than Germany but we all knew that already. Sure, Germany lost some land and military strength, and MAYBE having them pay up and accept total blame was a little
    harsh, but still, they would've done worse. And hey, now that their U-Boats are gone Britain is the true ruler of the seven seas once again! Personally, I would've given the Italians more. They
    make goodfood, plus their accents are beauteous. Now I can head on home after being in the neighbor to my wife, where there's no irritating teenagers.

    I hope Britain will become even stronger (outrageous, I know) and that war won't happen again. Not because I'm afraid, because it's so... pointless. Yes, pointless... Wilson was a real
    stiff. Mah Gawd, this whole League of Nations crap is ridiculous. Sounds to me like he just wants to luxuriate and share in Britain's wealth and power. There's still so little to do and so
    much time. Oh, wait, reverse that. But who cares? For now, there's peace!

    The USA retreated back into isolationism and was the terrorized by the Industrial Workers of the World, Russia underwent a bloody civil war, Germany's government was attacked by extremists,
    and was full of civil war. The veterans thought the war was worthwhile, that it would help make people realize how futile war is.

    1. It seems to me that you have forgotten to mention France in you short tirade. I didn't see you trying to drive Germans off your turf and you felt the need to decommission their u-boats just because they were a threat to your precious navy? Maybe if you spent a little more time building some sort of territory on the mainland you wouldn't need to keep food from us to feel powerful. Honestly, all we needed was a demilitarized zone and to decrease their army, but the u-boats that's just mean.

      Delete
    2. I agree with you about Italy! They do have some pretty good food... Anyway, Britain is better than Germany and America is a little better than Britain, but we're still on the same side here. Well technically not anymore because this nonsense is over!! Also, The League of Nations wasn't pointless and neither is Wilson! I'm proud to be an American because we make all the right choices and we're wicked smart! So don't go crappen on my country because once again... we are better than you.

    3. Having to accept full blame for the war was more than a little harsh! If we had actually been at the peace table, maybe Wilson's 14 points would have got done. Maybe you guys should have thought of that before you excluded it, since you all seem to be big fans of Wilson.

    4. Alright, I see you have read my blog, but can you explain what you will do if, excuse me for that slip up, WHEN another war comes because you punished Germany to harshly? Why not spread the blame! I know I would be quite the angry goose if I were blamed for a war I got into by fallowing my agreement with Austria-Hungary! I'm not saying it wasn't their fault or they shouldn't be punished, but PLEASE! When someone asks me did you not see this coming, I can say IT WASN"T ME. They'll ask, did you support WWI? I'll just answer IT WASN'T ME. You know what I'm saying Elmo? You've got me. Who's got me? Not Jules. And who's the childish one you Dopey Dope Head! At least I use capital letters when stating a name! Even I know that and I have a low IQ (still don't know what that is). BTW, NEVER criticize my home land EVER again, or one day when you're having tea and crumpets in the middle of a battle, I'll replace the sugar with salt! (I know, I'm evil)

Since we also have no u-boats and a smaller army we would lose if we were to attack anyways, or would we muhahhahaha a hahaha, (cough,cough,cough) nevermind that. Just saying Greek food is better.

  4. And the war is over! Armistice Day is November 11, 1918. You’d think everyone would be happy now that the boys are home, but not exactly. Germany isn’t happy because they were blamed for the whole war, don’t have all of their army and military, and have to pay 33 billion dollars. Austria was landlocked and Russia lost a lot of land. Japan, Italy, and Russia didn’t get what they wanted… and there’s America. Oh America. President Wilson wanted lasting peace and wanted to create a League of Nations. Well, the treaty of Versailles didn’t exactly go as planned for anyone.
    At the Treaty of Versailles, Wilson had 14 points, that were pretty good if I say so myself. Also we wanted the League of Nations. The League of Nations was mainly to keep peace world wide. Which means prevent wars between all the countries. In the end America didn’t even sign the League of Nations. I don’t know if I would have wanted America to sign it, because I do love war! But peace isn’t always a bad thing. Well that’s it for today! Hope all the countries get over this war and all the men their and families get better soon! But anyway, Go America!!

    1. So that's what the Treaty of Versailles was! I knew we got ripped off. I say we shoulda signed that, though I adore war and America and our military but deep down I know that league of nations thing would work. Nevertheless, USA! USA! USA!

    2. Damn right Germany got blamed for everything! This is so unfair!! Why weren't we allowed in the peace table? You better go talk to your President Wilson and tell him that Germany is still waiting for an explanation of why we weren't allowed to be part of the peace table. HE SCREWED US OVER! I hate you damn Americans. That war was rigged I tell you, RIGGED!!!!!!!

    3. Finally, someone who is making sense! I'm glad I got to hear the scoop from someone who really knows what's going on around here! Others were saying we got put into isolation! Nonsense I say! I am torn between peace and war because I love a good fight, but keeping peace would also keep our democracy growing! No matter what Wilson decided, we would still be on the top!

      Delete
    4. How can you keep democracy going without a massive war? I guess it's possible. Anywho Germany did get screwed over, but that's what you get for helping Austria-Hungary (shout out to them for being a country... oh wait...).

  5. How in the world did Germany loose this war?! It’s impossible. We were winning all along! Oh, well. At least Hans and Frederick are home now. Poor Frederick is shell shocked. He cries out in the middle of the night, thinking he is still in the horrors of war. Hans is desperate to help him. All day he talks about getting revenge on the French and British for hurting his little brother. He talks about the November Criminals and how they are cowards. He’ll do anything to make trouble now, and he is not alone. Many people have the same beliefs. We are going to tear ourselves apart if we’re not careful. Liesel has the flu, and I’m afraid she will die if we don’t find food. She’s only three.
    We did not get a seat at the peace table, and Wilson’s 14 points were a lost cause. They were very good points, but the French and British didn’t agree (no surprise there). We Germans get full blame for a pointless war (but then again, all wars are pointless) we didn’t even start. We lost so much land, and all prices have gone up because of the war reparations we have to pay. Everyone is poor. Hans is worried about our weakened military. Rumor has it that a group called the Industrial Workers of the World has wreaked havoc in the United States. In Russia, the Bolshevik revolution is creating chaos (but then again, where talking about Russia, so what else is new) and a civil war has broke out. When we are all really old, we’ll look back on this and say “That was really stupid. War is horrible,” and I will say “I told you so” in all the others’ faces. In fact, I’ll say it right now too: I TOLD YOU SO!!!!!!

      That treaty...it hit you guys hard. I don't know what those leaders were thinking, giving Germany an extra 3 billion or so dollars for you guys to pay off. Austria should've gotten some blame, heck, those Serbians and Bosnians should be blamed as well!

    4. Hello Elmo, Pierre Thomas here and the reason why Germany was blamed for the war is because they started it. They invaded my country of France and that got the ball rolling for everyone to start fighting. And also the reason why we don’t want the 14 points is because then you won’t be punished for your terrible acts. Germany is the reason there is a “lost generation”! Good luck getting out of your depression, and when your all sad sitting around, hungry, searching for crumbs, don’t forget Pierre said not to start this war.

  6. We have gotten sweet revenge on Germany! But…was it really that fair?
    The leaders have come together to decide what to do with do with Europe after the war, and the result was…not amazing, but not bad. Apparently Woodrow Wilson of America had brought 14 intriguing points to the table, ones that spoke of peace and unity…I’m baffled why they were all rejected. Well, one point did say that we’d have a peace without victory, and after this long war, we need a sense of victory or else this would’ve been pointless. One point sounded wild…a League of Nations. This league could’ve prevented future wars and done so many good deeds for the world, but it’s going to have weak support, as Wilson, the man who put up the idea, didn’t even get America to join it! Come on Americans, you guys want to be THAT isolated from us fine dapper Europeans?!
    Germany got slammed with blame, and almost doubled their losses in this war. Ha! Serves them right for messing with France….although I do feel bad, Austria should’ve gotten more blame (although they had lots of their land stripped from them). Germany was weakened considerably, with a little navy and a miniscule army. There’s no chance for them to get back up, even their Kaiser was dethroned! It would take a miracle man with godly leadership to reform Germany…
    The soldiers are coming home, and they’re more forlorn than I thought. Maybe it was the war and what they experienced… It hurts to ruin lives, to kill people expecting to return home to their loving families, to fight savagely for a war that you believed was glorious…but in actuality was dirty combat. Those soldiers will look back on this war when they get old and think: Were the sacrifices made in this war really worth it? Who knows if Europe will go into war again…if it does, this war was meaningless, and the lives have already been lost…
    I pray for France’s swift recovery from war, ready to settle back to the norm. I can finally return home and not smell like gunpowder from manufacturing line, and no more “you’re just a swan to weak for war”. Let us move past this travesty of a war, and move towards better things! Au revoir.
    ~~~~~
    My my, months later after a supposed peace and there’s already violence! There was a civil War in Russia, killing of many people. Extremists left and right leaning are attacking the new German Republic. Industrial Workers of the World are spreading chaos in streets of the USA. Can’t we just enjoy the peace, rather than spread more chaos?
  7. Y’all fellow bloggers needa listen here: The war is over, scream it loud and clear! Did you like my opening rap? Anyways, well there you have it. The war to end all wars is done for, finished, over. I’m happy we won, but honestly, I don’t believe we’ve won anything. Maybe conquering the Philippines, Cuba and Hawaii, but that’s about it. And besides- it’s not like I’ll be going there anytime soon (wherever that is) so I guess you could say the war was pointless to an American housewife. Actually, it did accomplish one thing: me losing money from paying my husband’s medical bills. You know, I thought the military’s red cross program helps out their wounded soldiers, but apparently I have to do it all myself. He came back from the war with a pretty badly hurt leg, but when I wrapped it with an American flag, it healed instantly. That’s the power of democracy I tell ya! And you people think I’m crazy for wearing the jumpsuit.
    So I heard about what happened with the treaty of Versailles and whatnot, with France getting screwed over. Well that’s what they get for being baby-killers! The things I seen on those darn posters downtown, those German monsters got what they deserved. I also heard about Wilson not signing that treaty, though I don’t quite know why we didn’t. I will have to read more papers. Something in my gut tells me that we didn’t get everything we should have gotten in this war, but what is a woman like me gonna do? I sew flag pantsuits for a living goddamnit! Boy, if I was a man fighting in that army, I woulda went right up to Wilson and made him sign the treaty. Though I’m not quite sure what the treaty was about, God is telling me it would make a huge difference in the long run. Wow, I could be a psychic, never mind a journalist or a seamstress. Well, that’s my opinion on the end of this war-I’m glad we won, but what did we win?
I also agree with you that you guys ( the Americans ) should've just signed the treaty! In my opinion it was a pretty fair treaty. Those dang Germans got what they deserved for messing with us Allies in the war! From the French point of view the Americans not signing the treaty was foolish! Sure you guys didn't get the League of Nations like you would've liked to get, but what do you expect, America didn't join the war until it was practically over. America should have taken advantage over the situation and asked for something reasonable from Germany, such as money. But hey, their loss not ours.
  8. Well, righty oh mates. Job well done on beating those scummy Germans, only took us about four years. I was talking with my commanding officer, Captain Jethro Chesterlane Hufflepot, and he was telling me that the Germans thought they would be at that peace conference in Versailles. Who do they think they are! First, they devastate the lives of innocent boys with their poisonous gasses. Second, they kill innocent travelers on the Lusitania. Third, they have the nerve to challenge me, Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot , and sink my ship. Finally, they make me believe beautiful mermaids are knocking on my ship, but no, they show their ugly moustaches. Anyway though, they thought they would be sitting and giving their two cents on what they wanted because that spineless American, Wilson said so. Thing is though, he said this without consulting the other two powers, Britain and France. There was no way we were going to let them sit. Why would we want to sit and talk to the people who just murdered thousands of our troops. If you ask me, I think Wilson just said that to them for the sake of ending the war. He may be spineless, but he is a smart. I think, he knew that we Brits and the French wouldn’t let them sit, and stabbed them in back.
    I also wanted to share with everyone that I am doing well after my swim. I without a doubt , made it safely to a Brit camp near the beach I washed up on. While have a nice cup of tea, I told those boys my valiant tale, they were quite impressed. I mean who wouldn’t be. But, after a couple’s days rest, we were able to safely sail back to the home land where I had to undergo questioning and again told my valiant tale. I only had a month left for my required service so I was allowed to stay home and just puts around the base. You know, just helped train some of the new recruits, helped plan some defense strategies, and even shared my wisdom with some young lads aspiring to be as great a man as me. Now, many of you may think I’m crazy for saying this, but the Germans put up a pretty good fight. I mean, original I was almost certain they were going to be wiped of the face of the earth by us, but they weren’t. They handled two front quite well. I mean, there is now higher honor than the praise of Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot. Well mates, it’s been fun, but wars over and I must be moving on with my life. Long Live the Qeen!
  9. WE DID IT! WE REALLY DID! THE WAR TO END ALL WARS IS FINALLY OVER! I am very proud to be an American today! Even though we helped win the war, I still feel like we got nothing out of it except a few countries here and there like Cuba and the Philippines. I mean this is coming from a guy that ran around his hometown with an American flag jumpsuit on! Coming back home from a great victory is like winning a million dollars! Well, I guess not in my case: I am a survivor of trench foot, oh that nasty thing if I can say so myself, but I guess I get around pretty well now. Who knew jogging in an American Flag jumpsuit everyday would soon turn into walking around the block with a flag in my hand. At least I never lost my spirit!
    Things at home now are kind of quiet but I am still in shock about Wilson’s decision in the Treaty of Versailles. I thought everyone agreed to his 14 points?!? Everyone knows those Germans need to pay. Oh those animals! Why would all these posters surround our country if they weren't true? The government would never lie to its citizens! Well, the “home before Christmas” those chaps forced us to believe in was an exception because that was the only way we could gain our democracy back! They knew we would stop at nothing to get it! I guess there is a legitimate why Wilson didn’t sign it, but I hope it was a good one! If I was able to run again, I would go down there and get a first-hand look at this myself. I have the right to know what we, the people, are getting thrown into! Maybe there’s a method to his madness?
    Just me,
  10. Alexander Johnson: Journal Entry for possible great grandson
    Dear Great Grandson, I am writing this entry long before you are born and would just like to talk to you about the most important things in life: BEING A PATRIOT AND MANLINESS! The World War has come to a rather pathetic conclusion and has left your poor old currently 19 year old great grandfather without a way to show his manliness, other than giving his wife COUNTLESS NIGHTS TO REMEMBER. Anyhow Germany’s in the toilet financially since the League of Nations made them take full responsibility for the war, Russia is in the middle of a Civil War (I am going to try to sneak in on that), and worst of all the grand U.S. of A. has a group of ninnies called “The Industrial Workers of the World” prancing through the streets complaining about work conditions! Sure I’m also a proletariat, but at least I’m happy with my French-American wife, who is apparently a month pregnant (I should probably stop riding her ‘round the mountain). Nice to see The League of Nations putting an end to ‘the war to end all wars’. PHOOEY! With a Civil War in Russia and this Adolf Hitler character on the rise, I think another grand war is on the horizon. Likewise, it is my duty to this country to be ready at all times!!!! So great- grandson, if I’m still alive when you’re reading this (which I should be, I’m going for 157 years of age!) feel free to ask me anything.
    Adrian Johnson’s Entry in Alexander’s old journal
    Dear Great Grandpa Alexander, you are currently 102 and still healthy, which is kinda weird I guess, and I will ask you some questions. WHY IN GOD’S NAME ARE YOU SO HELL-BENT ON WAR?!? I mean, surely you had to reconsider after World War II, Korea, Vietnam, The Cold War and Desert Storm. Also, HOW THE HECK DID THE MILITARY EVEN LET YOU GO TO VIETNAM AND KOREA?!? YOU WERE WAAY PAST YOUR PRIME! I saw a documentary on World War I and asked our paralyzed neighbor Danny Zwonik, and they all said that they hope that war will be eradicated in the future so that no more men and women need to needlessly suffer and die. I do hope that you take it easy on your daily exercises, 50 push-ups, sit ups, and lifting a 90 lbs weight is overdoing it. Anyway, I’ll talk to you in person later. P.S. I love you a lot great grandpa but if you and great grandma Angelique are still alive when I’m 50, I’m going to be PETRIFIED.
  11. It’s your number one Italian, Giovanni Monacelli (Alec S.), here. And that’s a rap folks! Italy and the allies took it to those damn Germans! The doughboys arrived right on time to assist us in shutting Germany’s final attack down They had it coming all along and it is no surprise that the clearly superior Italians along with some help from our many allies crushed all Germany’s hopes of taking over Europe. What were they thinking! They should have just quit the second we switched sides because nobody could’ve taken us down. Even though we had some rough times in the war, like when Germany was tearing up the allies’ armies for a short period of time, I knew that we wouldn’t lose. The Italian military has the most heart in the entire world and our soldiers treat each like brothers on the battlefield. The Germans were so naïve thinking the Americans would actually join their side. They were fighting for different causes. After all, what would Germany have done if America had joined their side and helped them take all of Europe? Knowing Germany as I do, they would have screwed over America, not given them any benefits, and maybe even try and take over America as well. They would have been selfish in that circumstance just like they always have. This is why they lost and is why I hope this treaty being worked out doesn’t work out in the favor of Germany. They should be punished for what they did because after all, the war is there fault. If you are going to start a war, at least win it!!!!
    I mean, I can’t complain with the outcome of the war because we kicked some German butt, but there were a few things that could’ve gone better which ticked me off a little bit. I wish that we destroyed Germany and completely took them down. I would’ve liked to see Germany get taken over! Leave them with no trace of their beloved country, but rather have Germany be a part of Italy! That’s what I wish from the treaty. Land and money! America says the peace is based on the 14 points of Wilson, but we all know Germany is still getting the S*** end of the stick. I just wanted to see them suffer more! Of course the peace isn’t fair! It shouldn’t be since Germany caused all this damn trouble. I hope we revise the peace to a point where the Germans don’t escape the war as unharmed ad they did. So what they had to spend a lot of money and lessen the navy. If I were America I wouldn’t have even offered them a seat at the peace table! Why does a country that was previously instigating war and trying to take over Europe have the right to be at the peace table? Those people shouldn’t even be associated with the word peace. And another thing, we asked America for a little help, we didn’t ask them to come take over and lead the allies’ side and start making this treaty. It should be the most powerful off the allies leading the way, and that is ITALY!! We will use the money and land from this treaty to make Italy an even more powerful and dominant country then it already is. In the near future, other countries will envy Italy!
    Video: Germany had to pay financial compensation, limit their military to 100,000, surrender all its colonies, and clear way for newly independent Poland. In the United States, new revolutionary ideas spread through a group called the Industrial Workers of the world spread chaos through the streets. Russia had to deal with fighting amongst the country itself. They were on the verge of civil war. The veterans from this war were still sad because they lost their friends, who were pretty much like their family during the war. They know the war is over , but still wish for their allies to return. Fighting in the war scarred them in that they will never forget the events and the life at war.
      Thats a wrap!
    2. Oh so Germany caused all this trouble? I don't think so Mr. Monacelli. If it was for the assassination down in the Balkans, we wouldn't be in this mess. Unlike Germany, Italy is good enough to own up to something that they didn't start or do. You just make excuses and go along with whatever your Allied countries do. If it wasn't for your Allies, Italy would be under German control from north to south. Your country will be sorry in the near future, i guarantee it.
  12. WHAATTTT?!?!?!?! How is the war over? I can’t believe this right now! We were so close to winning it and now we are on the losing end. See? What did I tell you? I hate those Americans. They ruin everything! We were on a roll until they joined in. We didn’t even freaking get spot at the peace table! I mean our country DID do the three things that President Wilson told us to do. We got rid of Wilhelm II, we became a democratic country and we accepted cease fire. SIKE!!! WE STILL DIDN’T GET INTO THE MEETING!! The stupid French and British don’t want us at the table! Well screw them! We deserve to be allowed at the peace table. What we DON’T deserve is all of the stupid things that America, France, and Britain are making us do! We have to cut down our German army to 100,000 men, get rid of any weapons, and eliminate any air force and submarines. That total BS!!!!!! To be honest, I don’t even feel safe living in this country anymore! Oh, and lets not forget that Germany has to pay freaking $30 BILLION!!!!!! What is this!!!! We weren’t the only ones that fought in the war you know! We should split the bill with the rest of the Central Powers! All in all, Germany is in a REAL tough and unfair position right now.
    I really hope this country can turn things around fast. Even though I have money, I still have to give money to the government to help pay the reparation bill. I literally want to punch a wall right now. Like seriously, Germany basically has a civil war within itself. The public money is being wasted and put to selfish uses! There are massacres happening in the streets right now, as we speak!!! Its not even common anymore to have a massacre because of how bad this country is currently doing. In my opinion, Germany will literally destroy itself from within. Not only is Germany doing horrible, Russia isn’t in a good position either. Russia is currently experiencing the torture of the Bolshevik Revolution. Because of this, Russia is also having a civil war among its people. What is surprising me is the condition that America is in. Apparently, there is a group called the Industrial Workers of the World spreading chaos on the streets. Damn, people are just not happy these days! And I don’t blame em! [*More info: The veterans of WWI are saddened. These veterans will never forget their life and experience during warfare. They are torn of the deaths. They realize that the war is over, but the dead are still dead, which makes them even sadder. (Sorry Mr. V I didn’t know how to put this part into my blog)]
    2. Ciao Asher it’s Giovanni Monacelli (Alec S.). Why do you hate the Americans so much? They did assist in us winning the war, but Italy would’ve came back for the win anyway! You may have been on a roll, but sooner or later, with or without the Americans, we would have rolled you back to where you came from! And would you like to know why you weren’t given a spot at the peace table? It’s because you started this whole mess. You supported Austria- Hungary when everyone was out to get them, which in my opinion, was a very stupid idea. You Germans shouldn’t even be placed in the same sentence with the word peace! Don’t hate America or your fellow European countries for something you guys caused and had coming to you guys all along.
    3. These other European countries are crazy! They are trying to blame the whole war on us. We are not the only ones who started and participated in this war. France and Britain participated in this war just as much as we did. No one deserves total blame for this war. It was everyone’s fault that this happened in the first place. That treaty is going to cost Germany everything and it is not fair. We are paying billions of dollars to countries who killed our men!
  13. Mary Smith (Alyssa Tocci)
    Hello, everyone. My name is Mary Smith, you may know my husband as John Smith, a fellow blogger. I'm so sorry to confirm that he went missing in action when he went off to the war, defending our beautiful nation, America. He gave me his password before he left, just in case something like this were to happen. So, I guess I'll speak for him. I, for one, feel bad that Germany didn't get a spot at the peace table. I realize that they were our enemies, but I'm such a nice person that I believe we should put the past away and look forward to the future, even though I'm sure John would disagree. He was never one for foreign affairs. I also feel every sorry to everyone who lost a loved one during the war. I can't believe so many men lost their lives. I wish we have all just gotten along and maybe none of this would have even started to begin with.
    I have hopes for the future. It seems like we're heading for both good and bad times. But if we can hold on together and power through as a nation, things won't be so hard. I can only hope for things to get better here on out. If we're all at peace and no one is fighting anymore, this world will be a better place. For our family, it'll be a struggle, though. I'm now home alone raising three children. I'm so sorry to anyone who lost anyone. But now, we can only hope to move forward. What's happened in the past is gone and we can only pray for better times.
I too am shocked at the amount of lives lost and wish we all could have gotten along, but you know how those dang Europeans are. I wish the best of luck to you and your three children.
  14. The war is finally over! My country, Germany, agreed to accept a cease fire, get rid of our king, and become democratic. All of these agreements were supposed to get us a seat at the peace table, but that didn't happen. Not only were we excluded, but we were absurdly punished. We had to accept total blame for the war. I understand that Germany was a little to blame for the war, but any other country who participated is just as responsible for what happened. On top of the embarrassment that comes with accepting total blame is the thirty-three billion dollars that we are expected to pay. How would any country be able to pay that? Even worse we are the only ones being punished. No one else has to pay anything.
    Even though the treaty was completely unfair, I'm glad that the war is over. Any amount of punishment is better than continuing the war which, in my opinion, wasn't fought for even one valid reason. Germany will make it through these punishments and come out stronger than before. Britain and France will regret punishing us. Future conflicts could be avoided if other countries were punished, or no one was punished. The punishment given to us is only going to make Europe a divided nation once again. Britain and France shouldn't have been so selfish and inconsiderate. They should have admitted that they were equally to blame.
      You have to pay! You think Germany had little to do with the war? Then what do you call submarine war fair? And killing those innocent Americans on the boat? America was dumb enough not to take money from you or take anything from you at all! Germany wasn’t on the winning side where as Britain and France were. Germany came into France to attack, France should not be to blame. America will get money from you someday!
  15. I can’t believe this right now, how did the great country of Germany just lose? From what i saw from the reports that got passed the government, Germany was kicking some Allie butt. It's the Americans fault we lost, they just has to get their nose into what was happening over in Europe. The Americans also lie too. What exactly happened to our spot at the peace table? I last recall Germany doing everything the Americans told us to do. Our king, Wilhelm II, is now out of Germany,we became a democratic country, we reduced our Naval fleet to a solid 36 ships,our army was reduced to 100,000 men, and we had to pay 30 billion dollars. What kind of country only has 36 ships in their Navy and 100,000 men to their army? As the great central power of Germany we deserve to be allowed at the peace table. Living in this country just seems pointless if we have no one to protect us. That bill that we had to pay should have been paid by everyone that was an Allie of ours.
    In the near future I expect Germany to turn this whole mess around. The people of Germany are now fighting each other. Since Germany is doing so bad right now I don't expect to be living here in Berlin for much longer with my family. It is not safe with all these massacres going on. Germany is going to be terminated before any other country has the idea of trying to themselves. Konrad, out.
I know we promised you that the league of nations would fi everything, but we couldn't get that to pass. once again us Americans are deeply sorry for you.
  16. Victoire!! Vive La France!!! Those barbaric Germans have been put in their place. Destroyed as a people they had no choice but to surrender to the Mighty Allies. With the help of the Americans we as one group gave the final push that the Allies and we need. A cease fire has been made and for once in the longest time there has not been bullet fired over our heads, artillery shooting bombs and gas at us. We haven’t ventured past our own trenches much but there is no longer any fighting.
    Although we have won it has brought great devastation to the great country of France. Was all the fighting worth it of has the devastation to everyone outweighed the victory? Many of my fellow French, my comrades, and friend have been killed in the line of duty, but worst of all my family hasn’t nearly as lucky as me. Our home was set ablaze and now all I want from those brutes is revenge.
    Our great French representatives better be working hard to get what is rightfully ours and none of Wilson’s 14 point garbage. We fought nearly 5 years and now no victory, is that really what the world needs?
  17. Well this is some bull….. I can’t believe we lost! I also can’t believe that Woodrow Wilson lied to us that way! I mean all we wanted was a seat at the peace table; we weren’t asking for anything ridiculous The fact that we followed the three things they asked for makes me angry. We got rid of Wilhelm II, started a democratic government, and accepted cease fire. I’m just glad that my boy is coming home in one peace. On the other hand, Germany is headed down. I feel that the Treaty of Versailles was complete bull. Why do we need to take full blame for the war? Its not like we started world war. Sure we were the most involved but so were other countries like stupid France. I can’t believe the damn frenchies beat us. They also had the aid of the superior American army but still. Also thanks to the $30 billion that we had to pay, life back here is going to be much more difficult and prices are already beginning to skyrocket.
    While I feel that Germany is heading for the toilet, I still have hope in our country. We won’t be able to expanded anymore however as our military has been limited to 100,000 men and our navy 36 ships, thanks to the damn Treaty of Versailles. Life here is sure going to suck in the next few years. Thankfully for my family we have a fair amount of money but for those who don’t life will be very hard to get food and just survive. I still have pride for this great country however, but I feel that many people are losing their nationalism. Also I feel bad for all of the veterans of war. They realize that war is over and there all beginning to realize the toll that this war had on millions of people’s lives. They realize that they have killed and this makes them really sad. I really hope my son doesn’t feel this way
  18. The war is finally over, i can finally go home to see my wife and children for the first time in several years. We, the Allies have won undoubtedly. Germany has paid, immensely for what they have done to the world. Our naval fleet has even gotten bigger due to us taking most of Germany’s fleet. I believe that the treaty was fair in every way. Germany knew what they were getting into when they joined the central powers, against us, the most powerful nations in the world. For now I do not mind anything, I am weary and tired and all I want is the train to come and bring us back to Britain.
    I hope we never get into another war like that! It was completely and utterly pointless. I am one of the older fellows in the marine now and I am too old for this. I am 38 years old!! When they said war was a young mans game they were not lying! It is all said and done now so I don't have to worry about falling over a boat because of one of my old people problems. But we have gotten our revenge. War is fought between leaders not soldiers, we are just carrying out blind commands and I’m sick of it! I was happy to be in this war before but now I am completely done. Sigh. But now the train has arrived and I shall bid you farewell.
  19. The war’s finally over. Russia pulled out way before that so I’m not sure how to feel. I thought when we pulled out it w the dumbest thing to do, but looking at how Russia has become better I guess since Nicholas II was overthrown. I mean the democracy was a better in the long term thinking with relations with other countries, but the communists provided a better Russia. Everybody is happy. Maybe now we’ll fully industrialize.
    I’m surprised we haven’t industrialized yet. Since the whole Japan thing, we should have taken that to a better extent. Maybe I should become communist since they’re running Russia a lot better than the old Czar. I got the manifesto out the street so I’ll look into it sometime.
  20. We won, we won, we won! Todays the day my son comes home from war and I am so excited to see him, you know since I haven’t seen him in 4 years. I personally think that all the fighting we did was for nothing. Us Americans got nothing out of it because Wilson wanted peace, but I guess that’s how it going to be from here on out. When Wilson gets back form signing the treaty of Versailles he goes straight into writing the treaty which has the League of Nations in it, but that was never passed. A few days after the treaty wasn’t passed he came knocking at my door begging for support, oh that desperate old man. But I told him I give him my support anyways cause you all know me god bless America. Anyways let me tell you the story of what it was like seeing my son for the very first time in 4 years. Well the first think I noticed was how much older and mature he was. But when I saw him I gave him a huge hug. Later on that night I noticed that he was waking up scared, he was having shellshock, I didn’t want anyone to look down on him, but there was nothing I could do, he will get over it in a few days anyways well at least I think.
    But now let talk about the Europeans, you know those Germans that put everyone in a bad position. Germany need to pay for some of the damage they caused. France will never be able to rebuild their country with all the money loss. But I do think that maybe Britain and France were pretty harsh on Germany, and is now causing them to go into a depression and is only going to causes them to want to start another war with us. I believe that we should have blamed all of the central powers and that all of the countries should of helped pay off the war reparation.
  21. The War is finally over and us Brits, and our fabulous alliances took the big W. Them Germans are beginning to pay the price, but they deserve more than punishment. They were the dumb idiots that started this bloody war… despicable behavior if I must say. 33 billion dollars can’t bring back brave men that have died fighting for their country. They shall all get Hell in afterlife. While us, Brits will be laughing at them above in Heaven. Needless to say I’m happy the war is over. That was a very long four years in the Naval forces, but it was all worth it in the end. Leaving the War, and coming back to regular life really helps me appreciate everything around me. In battle I was scared that I would never see my wife again. I’m thankful that I can finally get home and see her with a great meal in front of me!
    Fighting on the Eastern Front has made me become a better man. I’m honored to have been the Naval commander for I was the go to man in a lot of tough situations. The War Zone was a really scary place to be at because you could get attacked at any minute and always had to be ready to fight. The worst part about war is seeing one of your men die. Sometimes you wonder what is the point of war it’s all BS, and then I think about it and we wouldn’t be in this situation if the Central Powers weren’t so damn snobby. Whatever though karmas coming, and Germany is beginning to pay the price. I’m just happy that I’m alive to see it! Germans! When you see my face hope it gives you Hell!
    1. First of all I don't agree that it was us Germans that started the war, we were simply backing up Austria-Hungary when Ferdinand was killed by the Black Hand... Secondly I would like to point out that we also lost brave men that fought for us, we aren't that different. I'm sure you are devastated from the loses of your comrades, but every country is facing loses, us Germans didn't even get a spot at the peace table, how can you make peace with only one side allowed to be there? That doesn't seem very fair does it? Also I would like to say that I enjoyed The All American Rejects "Gives you hell" reference at the end (I hope that's what you were going for)
  22. Turn down for what? The war's over! It's over and those Germans were punished! Maybe the whole central power should had been punished all equal dividing the reparation fee equally. Yes, dividing Austria-Hungary into two different countries was bad but come on, there could have been more done to them. It was their archduke that was assassinated. Oh I'm not taking any blame from Germany, God no. They're the ones who brought us into this war! British Men had to fight in dirty trenches because of them. But I think Italy should have at least gotten something in return, don't you think? They made the right decision to fight against Austria-Hungary and join our side, even if it was in the middle of the war. Of course they're not an Anglo-Saxon but we're respectful and respected people. An ally is an ally. But I think to make the treaty with more Anglo representation, America should have signed it as well. But of course, those Republicans. I would admit, Wilson's 14 points were amazing but not amazing for this war. Sorry, Wilson but you didn't have a Lost Generation to be asking for peace.
    Oh life in a the next few years? I hope I'd be married by then. Happily married with children and a house. Wouldn't that be wonderful? Seeing that the men from combat to be home for good. They're not barmy, are they? War couldn't have been that hectic could it have been? Oh well, any man who served for the home land will do. They showed their manliness in battle and that's all I need. That's all Britain needs. That's why were the best race and will always be the best race. Some rights for women would be alright. you know, women make our race grow. It was good working in the factories having some sort of independence. It's just a suggestion, maybe it can be done in the next few years. Let's not wait for another war which will never happen.
Although I have to admit I was very upset when I heard that our country did not have a seat at the peace table, even though we did everything that we were told to do. It goes to show who you can really trust, we kept our end of the bargain but America’s president Woodrow Wilson did not keep his. Even worse we had to take all of the blame, reduce our military size, agree to not use submarines and pay the other countries. Could you really say this was all Germany’s fault? Our country wasn’t the only one involved in this war, since it was a WORLD war, I think everyone should take some responsibility for it.
    On the other hand I am very happy that this war is over. Stefan and Lukas are finally coming home! After being away for four years they will finally be back on German soil where they will be safe. I am so thankful that they were not badly injured or killed in this war. Of course, I know this isn’t a fair peace and it probably won’t last. We lost men, money and resources just like everyone else did, so why single us out? Just because we were the last to surrender doesn’t mean they should be allowed to pin it all on us. I honestly don’t believe that any good came out of this war, but it would have been nice to win it.   24. The war to end all wars is over! America has won, but it does not feel like that. Americans are parading around in their American flag jumpsuits singing the national anthem again, but I don’t understand why they are so excited. Us Americans got nothing out of this war other than thousands of deaths. Luckily, my son is not one of those lost men. He is returning home tomorrow from the war and boy, have I missed him. My neighbor, Annie, has told me stories of how different her son is since he has come home from the war. He has had nightmares every night since returning. I hope Daniel returns home the same as he left. Other than the return of my son, the only good thing about the war ending is that my wife no longer has to keep her job and the bullet factory. I hope we can continue our lives normally now.
    I do believe President Wilson has cheated the Germans out of what they were promised, but they deserve it. They should have known fighting a horrible war for four years wouldn’t end in peace. Germany needs to be pushed, but I do feel France and Britain are too greedy with their demands. Germany should have to pay for damages they have caused in France and poor Belgium, but they were not the only country fighting on the central powers side so they should not be the only country having to pay. Wilson did a poor job negotiating terms for the treaty but I guess that’s why America never passed it. I just hope this makes Wilson realize that we should have never gotten involved in the war and hopefully, America will never get involved in a European war again.
    Well that’s it! The “war to end all wars” is over and my beloved country of France has gotten sweet revenge on Germany for what they did to us. They agreed to a cease fire and now they have to pay crazy amounts of money and get rid of their king and change their government. They agreed to all that just for a seat at the peace table that they didn’t get. I think that Germany definitely got what they deserved at the end of this war but I don’t believe that all of the blame should’ve gone to them. I think that other countries could’ve been blamed a bit too. But someone had to take the blame and that happened to be Germany.
    All blaming people aside, I’m just very glad that the war is over. I do admit, I was excited for the war before but I have now learned that the war is not as thrilling and amazing as it seems. I bet the soldiers are even more excited that the war is over than I am though; the conditions are terrible as I’ve said before and they must have just been miserable. I hope that France can recover from the war quickly but I am not sure that will happen for this war has taken such a toll on our country. It would be good for France to be restored to its former glory as quickly as possible so everything can be how it was before the war and it will be almost normal again.
    1. I agree with the fact that Germany shouldn't take all the blame for this war. We didn't deserve any of this treatment since we didn't even start the war! Even though,we were the first and the last ones fighting there is no need to take sides. All countries that were involved in the war should take some blame.
  26. I told you, I told you all. What exactly was the purpose of all of that hullaballoo? Is the entire world now democratic? No. Is there free trade? No. Has a group of nations been set up in solidarity? No. Was a lasting peace established by not punishing the loosing party? Absolutely not. Slav loving Wilson now has us tied to all of the problems in Europe. Everyone over there hates us now and its’ all those dang interventionalists’ fault. We didn’t need to get involved, we had no reason to get involved. I shudder to think of American soldiers on French soil, scarfing down croissants and fighting on the same side as Italians. The best part of this war being over is that the good American boys are home.
    This ridiculous Treaty was a failure on all counts as far as I’m concerned. That frilly princess Wilson thought he was so much better than the rest of us and the government would pass any treaty he wrote, regardless of its stupidity. Guess what happened? It wasn’t passed, of course it wasn’t passed. A League of Nations that forces us to go to war for every petty dispute between a couple of sub-par little half-formed countries; why on earth would we ever want to be a part of that? We are our own separate country and we’d be better off if we just kept that in mind from now on.
  27. And the victor finally emerges without a scratch from the battlefields of Europe. There was some close calls like a zeppelin that came close to us, but that was easy shot for us to make and destroy it. And a storm almost caused a levee to break near us, but thank god it didn’t or more people would have gotten killed in the artillery division. With all the things that I did it was only a small contribution to the American’s war effort, and my medal that they gave me was an added bonus to show off. Too bad a lot of people I know around here were not as lucky and got killed by either got killed by a bullet or gas in a dark muddy pit. Only if I could see them one more time as they saw me the only way they did cause I always talked to them in my beloved American flag jumpsuit.
    That treaty that Wilson was supposed to sign was kind of a joke. He went all the way out there and did not sign it or pullout any one of his 14 points except the League of Nations. All he wanted was his League of Nations and he didn’t even join it, what a joke. And besides that those other countries wanted to punish Germany a little too hard. I can image Germany is really pissed off right now and drinking their beer to forget about it. I can image Germany wanting payback eventually and I’ll show people that I was right. Sorry for losing Germany but the great Americans came on top. Everyone else on the allies helped but like I said before we needed to clean up their mess.
  28. YES THE WAR IS FINALLY OVER AND BRITAIN BROUGHT HOME THE VICTORY!!!! I’m ecstatic that we won, but surprisingly I’m not that pumped about Germany’s punishment. Although they’re horrible people, I think that their punishment was a little harsh. On top of having to pay 33 billion, losing a whole bunch of land, and having their forces restricted, they were also embarrassed by being defeated by our great country! Not that they should have won and that we’re weaker than them, but they lost pretty badly. Although I feel kinda bad, I wouldn't want my country to have to pay for reparations and to lose land, because I feel that we are still above everyone else. Since we won the war, we shouldn't have to help those who lost. I think that they should have split the punishment throughout the entire group of Allies, instead of blaming it ALL on Germany. Yeah, they caused a lot of damage, but they worked with other countries to cause this damage, and it’s pretty messed up that the countries that they worked with don’t have to suffer nearly as much as they do.
    I believe that Britain will become stronger now that this war is over (if that’s even possible). Now that the other countries saw how powerful our forces are, they’ll be afraid of us the next war, which is hopefully not anytime soon. Although I was excited to fight in this war, I honestly think that this war was useless. We proved that we were the best country, but everything was blown way out of proportion. Hopefully this war scared everyone from wanting to start another war. However, I do think that Germany is eventually going to try to get revenge on us, but that doesn't scare me.
  29. Martin Smith, blogger extraordinaire, at it again. Well, how great! The ‘war to end all wars’ is finally over. What a waste of time. Do the Americans, even know what they were fighting for in the first place? I sure don’t! If only America could have kept to its own business. The war was so pointless, the only thing that was accomplished was killing ten million young men that could’ve been the next Einstein! Oh, how I wish that America never got involved. Now we could be a target on the radar, rather than not get involved. If America hadn’t gotten involved, maybe a mother wouldn’t have lost her son, a son lost his father, or a brother lost his brother. There is no way that those soldiers, thos soldiers who could have watched as their comrades were killed in front of them, can ever fully recover from that. Now we have a generation filled with young men that have been stripped of their youth, and all of that for what? For a feeling of superiority over another country?!
    Now, I’m not Woodrow Wilson, but this “Treaty of Versailles” doesn’t sound like the ‘peace without victory’ that President Wilson had promised. Thirty-three billion dollars in repairs, to a country that didn’t even provoke the war! Keep in mind that the original conflict was between the Serbians and Austrians. So, if that’s the case, why is Germany taking all the blame? Not saying that Germany shouldn’t be held partially accountable, but this whole treaty sounds nothing like Wilson’s Fourteen Points. Our good ole Allies are just a little too greedy for my liking! Honestly, I couldn’t care less about the whole mess with the treaty, I’m just irritated with the fact that Wilson didn’t come through with his promises. I hope that America has learned its lesson and fall back into its isolationist ways. Perhaps they learned that getting involved with European affairs caused nothing but the destruction of a generation. I hope that America will never (and I mean ever) join another European war. Maybe this really was the “war to end all wars”.
    After the end of the war, in the U.S. an organization known as the Industrial Workers of the World spread chaos on the streets. In Russia degenerated into a bloody civil war. In Germany the republic, upset and ashamed at the loss of the war, was torn between the extremist of both left and right parties. There is a civil war and selfish spending of money, as well as massacres in the streets. By 2002, the veterans wonder if the war and if the sacrifice of millions of men was truly worth it.
  30. Finalement, the war is over and we are victorious. Those Germans will pay for what they did to France....and Britain too. All these long years and finally Alexandre can come home. Mon Chéri is so happy. It is such a bitter-sweet moment for France. We have lost so much- a whole generation. Les petit soldats will never know what it is to be young, in love, foolish or silly. Ah mon Dieu. Alas Germany must pay for this. It is completely their fault. I am so happy America entered the war and brought Europe this victory. Victoire mes amis. Oh the Americans, now that is a different story. When my friend John told me the Americans were going to enter the war based on their presidents 14 points plan, I laughed. A war without a victor, equals? Zut! What does the American president know? He sat there in isolation while we allies were being ripped apart by those German goats. Now he want us to call it even and just stop? I think the American president has had too much coffee and doughnuts or maybe it is the new Mexican cigars he is smoking. We do not want his stupid 14 points, we want REVENGE. Qui, sweet revenge for France and the allies. Those German apes destroyed our land and they think we will just shake hands over it? NEVER!!! I am glad they never listened to cuckoo Wilson.
    Qui, we need to reduce Germany’s army so they can never start a war again. I have hopes that the with money and land we get from Germany, we can restore France to what it was once. But my friends, even that is a long stretch. I doubt our petit soldats can ever fully recover from the horrors of war. La guerre est plus terrible. Alexandre says he might have to get his leg chopped off like a common log due to trench foot. He said his was very bad. My wife is so unhappy. She has already lost two brothers to the war. Yet Wilson wants a peace without victory. Nonsense, we shall squeeze those Germans dry and make them pay. And those Russians thinking they can get something after they ran away like cowards. Next time they will fight like men. Hopefully, we will able to kick start our once peaceful lives. My wife wants to open up a flower shop to bring beauty, peace and sunshine back into our community and France. We will probably get started on that soon. I am so happy the war is over. Victory to the allies, victory to France!!!
    Sitting safely at home with my son Dragobert isn't the worst thing in the world, even though he's gone a little wacko about seeing and hearing random things, but soon i will probably not have a home to be sitting in with him. After we we're denied a seat in the peace table we just got stuck with nothing. I mean look 33 BILLION dollars in war reparations, seriously. The amount of taxes that have to be paid here now a days are quite absurd. Plus to add on top of that is that us Germans have to take all the blame for this, it was the Austrians that started this whole brouhaha all because Serbia killed their arch-duke. The only reason why I think that we were blamed is that we fought the majority of the war against the allied countries. The other countries didn't even get punished as harshly as we did. I'm in complete disgust with the Americans, they said "All ye gotta do is get rid of ya government and make it a democracy, get rid of that Wilhelm fellow over there and accept our cease fire' but those sneaky son of a guns said "hey, you know what would be really funny? if we screw over the Germans and take away their seat" and that's how we ended up in this garbage deal. I really am not enjoying sitting here barely keeping this house, and listening to "BOMBS NOT THE BOMBS!" (if anyone is catching the reference, that seems to be the newfangled trend on this blog) plus whenever Dragobert is having a panic attack he starts to eat all of the food. This shows what a terrible war can do to a young man's life.
    My honest opinions for our country in the long run would be that we will eventually retaliate and start another war. These conditions are absolutely absurd! Me, like most other German citizens will agree as well, i wont be surprised if a majority of the country leaves so they don't have too pay these ridiculous taxes.The only way we can make another war happen again though is if we get to rebuild our army since its been dulled to the point where we will never be able to protect ourselves from anyone, especially if there is an alien invasion, we will surely die from that 100%. So sorry but i have to go and tend to my mentally ill son who is complaining about there being rats all over the floor, when there clearly isn't....any...RATS!!!
  33. Well my fellow Germans it is finally over and we have been severely punished by the victors of this war. I feel that our government not adhering to the Schleifflen Plan and leaving men to guard against non-industrialized Russia. Also we had little to no help from our allies and we ended up fighting their whole war for them. I am very depressed with the way our country is headed and am planning on running for office to attempt and fix some of these issues. My only solace from this war is that my two boy Otto and Jonas have survived the Great War and are home safe,
    Now about that terribly unfair punishment of a peace treaty. Not only were we lied to by those Americans and their leader Wilson about getting a seat at the peace table but the Americans gave up on those 14 points which were actually fair to all countries involved. But now we have been crippled as a country thanks to the British and the French. I feel like we were not really responsible for the start of the war that was thanks to the tension in the Balkans. But we get blamed for it all for fighting the war the best and the longest.
  34. Hello my fellow friends as you have all heard THE WAR IS OVER!!! Though the war is over, we Italians don’t feel like winners and I know exactly why. Those French and British ended up taking full control of the conference. They ended up only doing the things they wanted like limiting Germany, making Germany pay literally, and taking the colonies away from Germany for themselves. I also feel sorry for the German citizens who will have to help pay billions of dollars without the other Central Powers who were also part of the war helping. Yet everyone else at the conference got practically nothing, nada, zilch. I heard that Woodrow Wilson ended up bring up these amazing 14 points to prevent anything like this and do you know what happens nobody ends up wanting to do it so it never happens. And we Italians all we wanted was a small slip of land on the other side of the Adriatic Sea yet we don’t get it while Britain and France are there taking the colonies from Germany for themselves. This peace was not fair at all it was all bias towards destroying Germany and strengthening Britain and France.
    I wish that the conference was at least a little bit more far too all the other people and wasn’t so harsh on Germany. I also wish that at least we Italians got that small slip of land like we weren’t really asking for much if you look at what France and Britain were taking. Also what I hope ends up changing is this stupid feud all these countries have against each other and just learn to accept all other people or at least the citizens learn this because citizens can always overrule a government. The worst thing about this war was all the poor young men that all lost their lives for this abomination we call war. I feel sorry for the whole generation of people that was lost to this war of nothingness. I hope that for myself now that this war is over I will be able to finish my book, but most of all I hope that once things have called down I’ll be able to marry my one true love.
  35. Pierre Thomas here and I almost forgot to tell everyone that I told you so. The Germans were crazy to try to invade my country and they paid the ultimate consequence for it. I got to give a big thanks to America for helping us out at the end of the war, although I am sure that we would have won anyway. I feel that now with Germany at its lowest, France is back to its great heights. It might not be as great when Napoleon was in power, but definitely a close second. I still have a very strong hatred for Germany and if it was my decision I would erase them off the map, but America wants to be too nice to them. I mean they invaded our country for no reason, and they deserve to be punished, harshly. Also thanks to Britain for sticking with us for the entire war. I know it was a long fight, but you will be awarded nicely when the treaty is created.
    And now we are going to create a treaty. I plan, along with the rest of France, expect to hurt Germany where it hurts most….. in their wallet. We plan on taking this money because of all of the things destroyed in our country during the long war. And all of this damaged occurred because the Germans decided to invade our country. We also need to get a buffer between our two countries to help prevent any things like this from having again. Also shrinking your army and military won’t be a bad idea, so we feel no threat coming from the east. Also Germany must take total blame for this war starting in the first place, which I believe in entirely. If they did not come into my country all of these problems would never had been created. Since America doesn’t believe in punishing Germany like France and Britain, we really just turn against them during the creation of the treaty and they never sign it, but who cares. France is victorious!!!
  36. Hello everyone, Isak Zaslavsky returning to speak to you all again. Well, I guess the “Great War” has come to a complete stop. Honestly, what did everyone accomplish here? What were all of the fools fighting for? Land, respect, power? Well I guess everything they were fighting for ending up getting covered by all of the blood from the soldiers. I am actually starting to get really angry and somewhat depressed at the thought of this whole war. The whole damn thing was fought and what was accomplished in the end? A BIG blame on Germany and an unfair treaty… OH YES, THE TREATY. I almost forgot. How could I not forget about it, when Russia didn’t get a say in any of it? This is probably one of the most unfair peace endings ever created. Ha, The Treaty of Versailles. I think that we should call it the Treaty of Unhappiness. What did my great country Russia get from Wilson and the others? Absolutely nothing… Just because we are democratic. I bet we would have been sitting there at that stupid peace table if we were democratic. But no… Why invite a communist government that was technically on the winning side. Russia was left completely out of the loop on this one. We lost 25% of our land, people, resources etc… We suffered through all of this just to get ignored from the whole “peace” part of the episode.
    I think Wilson and the others could take a few pointers from me when it comes to making a treaty. They had no idea what they were doing. They successfully screwed everyone over, especially Germany. One thing that I would have done different would have been blaming ALL of the countries for taking part in this war. I do agree that Germany was most at fault; however it wasn’t right to just blame them. This seems slightly un-human like. Secondly, I wouldn’t have had Germany pay thirty-three billion in compensation. It seems like a complete rip off as Germany already had the most money into the actual war… I would have removed this compensation for them as they are now faced with a complete economic crisis. However, all of this doesn’t mean that I like Germany. Nobody better mistake my kindness and generosity for weakness… Lastly, I would have given Russia and some other winning countries their lost land back. I think that it kind of makes sense to give back land to countries who actually won the war. Especially Russia, since we got literally nothing from this “Great War.” Well I can’t do much now but hope for things. Firstly, I hope that all of my family can stay safe and maintain a happy life before anything else goes wrong. I really wish that my country can remain out of trouble until I die. I am in no condition to suffer another war. I don’t want any involvement from Russia, especially because we never get appreciated for anything. I hope that my country is able to refrain from the horrors of war and its consequences. If Wilson is reading this, then I hope he realizes that I have a very low level of respect for him. He should understand the low level of importance he gave to us and how we feel about this… This is Isak signing out… Have a peaceful day fellas. (Ha-ha get it, peaceful?)
  37. Germany lost the war. I am completely shocked! I was reading just a few weeks ago that we were doing great and making advances. This has completely come out of the blue! No one quite knows what to do. Everyone is confused as to how we lost the war when no enemy ever set foot on German soil. That is mind boggling. The German people are angry. We should have won this war and there are no excuses. We look weak. The Americans joined the war and ruined everything for us. The British and French are out to get us. Germany wants a seat at the peace table so we were forced to get rid of Wilhelm II, accept a cease fire, and make a democratic government. We did everything they asked and those liars still did not let Germany into the peace table. They claimed there was no room when we all know they could have simply pulled up another chair! The allies are taking their anger out solely on us. Germany was not completely responsible for the war and they are acting like we killed a bunch of innocent puppies for no reason! We could not just sit through the war and not do anything. We had to act. It is not our fault we were the biggest threat.
    Our country has to pay billions of dollars to France and Britain. Why should we have to pay them when they killed our men too? Our military is being limited to 100,000 men, the air force was abolished, and the navy was limited to 36 ships. We are being left defenseless and unable to attack if we need to. The people of Germany are suffering. No one is happy and the war has made everything different. My family and I still go to the synagogue and try to live our lives normally. The men coming back from the front are different. They do not seem to fit into our way of life any more. They have changed in a way that they try to hide. No one knows what to do. Germany must prevail! The British and French are being unfair in giving us all of the blame. Once they get past their blind rage they might just see that. They played just as big a part in this war as we did.
  38. Hey, Mr. Vanderkeyl this is Allie Collins.
    As a French citizen who lost her entire family, I am, for once, on the same side as Germany. I want revenge for all the loved ones lost. America is very wrong in wanting to not press charges. We have been fighting these countries for FOUR WHOLE YEARS now, and I want to see some real action. I have lost so much for this war that has accomplished pretty much nothing. Neither side really gained land, but both lost money, men, and resources.
    This whole dang war was a waste of time, and I want to get revenge for the years of neither said gaining land. Also, the Germans came into OUR land and bombed the French! We should have pushed back into the German land and destroyed their towns. We aren't even allowed in some parts of our own country because of all the poison gases! If we don't get money or land from the wretched Central Powers, I will be mad.
  39. World War 1 has finally ended and with great results! The Allies have won the war, and this year all the soldiers will be home for Christmas! The Treaty of Versailles has been signed, but if it were up to me I would’ve made Germany’s consequences even worse than we have agreed on in the treaty. Sure they have to accept full responsibility for the war, pay a lot of money in war reparations and a few other consequences, but I believe they should suffer even more. Although, making the Germans accept total responsibility and pay war reparations was a safe bet. We should make the Germans pay for the loss of our men during the war and the loss generation. At least our country (France) got a decent end of the treaty unlike the other countries in our alliance. Italy wanted land but were not given any and all the Americans wanted was the League of Nations, but were not given that so they didn’t sign the treaty. So I can’t really complain about the treaty. The most important thing is that the Allies have won the war and not the rotten Central powers. Now the central powers know not to mess with us Allies again. I hope that another war such as this does not break out again anytime soon. Although the Allies did win the war and would without a doubt be able to win another, it would be a shame to loose so many lives again.
    Now since the war has ended in the favor of France, I have high hopes for our great country! I hope that our country will continue to strengthen and prove to be superior to other countries! I also hope that there is no more war for a while so our great soldiers can enjoy their victory for a while and not have to worry about the tough conditions of war. The victory of World War 1 was a great achievement for the Allies that should be remembered for many years to come!
  40. It is finished! I thought I would never see the day that I could go home, but it has come. I have arrived home and my emotions cannot be held back! I wish for the Germans to be punished as much as possible. I have heard of these “14 points” America has proposed. I say complete rubbish to that! They have cause the tremendous number of casualties in this war and they deserve to be punished as much as one could be. I was very happy to hear what we have done to Germany and if anything we should have been harsher.
    One thing I am very unhappy about is the explanation to this war. I have heard almost no reasonable explanation to have had this many men die. This has led me to believe that this “War to End Wars” was really useless. Over 10 million lives have been taken for absolutely no reason! This infuriates me. The deaths haven’t stopped either. This new Avian Flu is turning out to be even more deadly than the war. Many men are dying in what I believe to be the worst time. They have been through such a hard-fought war and then as they get home they realize they have contracted such a horrible disease. My country has prevailed through such a terrible time in our history and I assume will continue to do so forever!
  41. Adler Barth (Brianna Leung) here, and I am very angry. This war has been ripping up my family and in the end we lose. This has to do with America. They come and join right when we were about to win. Our plan of sending u- boats for a quick victory was a fail. Britain and France was able to hold us back. Those damn Americans can mobilize fast! In the end, Woodrow Wilson tells us that we are able to sit at the Peace Table if we do four major things. When we arrive at the Peace Table, accomplishing the four things, there is not a place for Germany to sit. This had backfired on us, we did everything that was said to be done and we get turned down.
    This isn’t fair! Germany wasn’t the one starting the war. If Wilson wants peace then they should give us what we deserve. Also, these reparations are killing us! Only being allowed 36 ships, having to pay over $33 billion in reparations, and only 100,000 men in our army. Over the next few years, I expect that we get over this depression and massacres. We need to come together as a country and fight for what we deserve!
  42. So many lives lost… It’s almost scary to think of. 10 million, I cannot even comprehend such numbers. I have heard the true stories, uncensored, and all glorification of this war was a cruel lie. Men and young boys, some 16 years old were throwing their lives away. I can’t imagine throwing away my life from 18-22. These were the best years of my life. I hope my children will never have to endure such pain of war. These deaths, some were quite brutal. For example gas, seems like a horrible, pitiful way to die. My little son Ronny could have been in this situation.
    R-Swizzle
    I hope this war really builds a lasting peace. I have confidence that with such tragedies countries will never have to shed blood. I mean the war to end all wars? As bad as this was, kind of worth it. If conflicts do arise, I have a firm belief that we can all maturely handle it. Our leaders are level-headed enough to solve problems without bloodshed. To be honest, I think they should just play Pokémon, or like arm wrestle for whoever wins these battles. Or whoever has the biggest traps, cuz who don’t love some trapezius.
  43. Finally the war is over! I told you all from the beginning this was going to be bad. All that killing young boys have done is make everyone mad at each other once again. Without this entire war we could of minded our own minds and not have a total war. TOTAL WAR what in the world could possibly sound beneficial about that. Russia would have handled our own problems if twenty five percent of our land was pulled away and a major chunk our own population. Now that is just plain unfair. And boy oh boy Germany is in a pickle. They are being blamed for everything, which they should be under the right of God in my eyes. They were the first and last fighters, they would not give up and try to make peace and they are just a bunch of hot potatoes we should all drop. At least now they have a limited army and any defense mechanism possible. Now all their young men can live their generation, unlike the others.
    With all of my boys home hopefully soon the home front will go back to peace and relatively normal. I just hope that our government will actually listen to their people for once and not join any war again. There must be another war, with all of the fire brewing all because of that treaty. Germany will never put up with this. It would be great if all the new formed countries will stay as they are with their own customs and governments but with Germany on the loose that won’t last long dealing with that. I wish Russia could slowly gain its power back, right now we look like a bunch of cowered backing out of the war. We should go under the radar as much as we possibly can. The more I speak about it the more frustrated I get. So long and farewell. Hopefully this will be my last post about war and many more posts about me in the fields.
    1. Thank you for being understanding of Germany’s situation. You are right, we probably will not put up with this, as it is very unfair! It upsets me that such a smart person could dislike Germany, but then again I dislike Russia so I won’t judge you too harshly. Germany is in a pickle, but don’t you worry, we will get out of it!
  44. Hello, Napoleon the 163rd here.The war is finally over and like I told you all, France is victorious! We stopped those pesky Germans in the Battle of the Marne and fought through years of awful trench warfare. Now, finally, the Treaty of Versailles is signed. Everyone is rumoring about the unfairness of the treaty but I completely disagree. Ya, so the Germans went to America for help because they didn’t want any consequences. But, if you come into France and kill French troops then you do not go unnoticed. I think the French government punished the Germans just right. First, the damages in our country had to be paid off, and since those Germans caused all that damage, they should fix it. Next, the buffer zone is just what we needed. Now, the Germans are obviously mad and are going to want revenge on us like we just got revenge on them, demilitizaring their left bank can give us a warning if they are planning a revenge sneak attack. Ok, maybe the Germans shouldn’t take all the blame for this war, but they should at least take 90% of it. They destroyed Belgium, a neutral city, and then they damaged France, so they were the most vicious, dangerous, and harm causing.
    All in all, I thought the treaty was very fair. France and Britain, the main contributors to the Allied side, both received what they asked for, as they should. We got everything our hearts desired, probably because everyone was too scared to tell us no. Ha ha, we are so powerful! So, maybe other countries are unhappy, mostly the Central Powers, but what did they expect? They just lost a very lethal and long-lasting war and they seriously expected not to be punished? Also, I am hearing rumors that Italy is unhappy. All I have to say is, why? You just won The Great War without helping too significantly and your still asking for more. Calm down there, France, Britain, and America are top priority. Moving on, I believe France is going to become even more powerful. Germany will be in everlasting debt towards us. But more importantly, love for our country has grown, I know mine has! France will soon reestablish itself at the top of the powerful nations!
  45. Dear Journal,
    The war is...O-V-E-R! Oh, what joy! Perhaps I should make a serving of sirloin marsala? Oh what a treat it would be with some Amarone* wine and fresh cheeses! Perhaps,I could even have...wow I'm far from the topic. As for the war, my fair country did not get our fair share! We took part, as I've said, but we could not obtain our goal, the land that Austria had taken away from us! I do well this war was quite pointless, it started years ago, and I can only vaguely recall why everyone put so much pride and faith in a war with no true drive. They were doomed to such a terrible fate to begin with. And, what has this left them? Death and debt. I can not imagine the sheer number of men that have died across Europe.
    Oh, but we are the fools; for we have let it happen, we allowed them to send more and more men, we were deceived. The only ones reprimanded were the Germans, which is in no way fair, is it? They may have stood their ground until the end of the war, but they were most certainly not the only ones fighting on their side. Of course, I do not appreciate that they had attacked us Italians, but frankly they were not the only ones to fight in this war. They were most certainly not the only ones to die in it either. If I had a say in the treaty, I most certainly would have lightened a bit of the burden on Germany, and spread it to the other countries that fought on that side as well. Or somehow, I'd prevent such a foolish war from happening in the first place.
    I do have hope for the upcoming year though. I believe my country can show Europe a light, after this period of darkness that had fallen upon it. Hopefully everything around Europe can get better, especially because now we have allies at our side. But, after such a brutal war, I doubt we could start fighting anytime soon.
    Until we meet again, Journal,
    Felicità De Santi (Sarah S.)
    (*Amarone is an Italian Red Wine according to the internet, so I just went with it, 'cause I'm no wine expert, that's the Frenchies, I ain't got time fo' studying dat, got books to write 'bout Garibaldi and his total amazingness, you totally know what I'm talking about.)
  46. This war was a waste of our time. Not only did we lose but also the League of Nations lied also. I thought we had this war in the bag but I guess not. The thing that really grinds my gears is how Woodrow Wilson broke his promise. That guy is a pain in my a** let me tell ya. First he promises us the 14 points and then he guarantees us a spot at the League of Nations table. Not only does he not give us anything, the rest of the world blames it all on us even though we didn’t even start it in the first place. We had to pay mad mula, $33 billion to be exact. We also had to limit our military to 100,000 men, 33 naval ships, and no planes. They are basically spitting in our faces. We should have signed that treaty of Versailles and we probably would have won the war. Also Germany got smaller, like what the hell.
    They said that this would be the war that ends all wars. Not only is that wrong but this is probably the war that brings more wars. This war was most utterly pointless. My son died over nothing and millions of other Germans lost theirs too. At least that this is finally over, things can go back to normal. There are more things that we have to deal with like kicking J.B out. But there is still is more stuff to deal with first. I believe in the next couple of years that our country will win, that or country will pay us and we will tell them what to do. This war set us on a course with a destination of being victorious. It you dirty, snobby, filth-ridden insects, French wimps set one foot on our German soil, we will let out a can of whoop out, and you have been warned. Coming from a war veteran, I would have marched right into France and have taken it out myself.
    After the war in America, a group called the Industrial Workers of the World spread around streets. In Russia after the war, they had a civil war called the Bolshevik revolution. In Germany after the war, they were under siege of extremists attacks on both sides of them. Also they were in a civil war like Russia was at that time. Also in Germany, Adolf Hitler was about to begin his reign. The veteran says that WW1 was worth wile and that the result of both WW1 and WW2 will bring futility to wars.
  47. My boy has come home! And that big war in Europe has ended. Hello again fellow Americans, Richard Pine here. My family has been reunited again with the return of our son, Finn. I thought that once the war had ended that the American soldiers would come back and we would be an isolated country for once. But, NO, Mr. President is too caught up in his fourteen points that he went off to this huge palace in France to get his points across. As soon as I heard about this, I banged my head against the wall for an hour. The jobs they made us do doing the war were horrible, I learned how to build a tank and load a gun, but it wasn’t the same as building a Ford car. Businesses are no longer forced to build items so the Ford Factory is back to building Ford cars.
    Woodrow Wilson came back from that palace in France soon enough carrying a piece of paper in his hand. He had decided to make peace with the other countries! I thought we wanted to isolate America, not to make peace with other countries so that their immigrants are allowed into the states! The Republicans agreed with me. Though they had never heard my point, its what they wanted too. Hopefully that treaty never gets signed and America can be isolated and not at war. When the soldiers returned home, Flint was overjoyed and happy for once. If it was like this all through out America without those bloody Immigrants, I may stop ranting for once and may be talk about something else, but that’s only if America gets isolated for once and for all!
  48. The Great War is finally over! Germany gave up a lot of things to get out of this war. There was a peace table that they were supposed to get a seat at with leaders from other countries, but even after giving up a lot they didn’t get a seat. I don’t really mind though, because Italy got a seat at the peace table. The war should have ended a long time ago, but I’m glad that it is done now and all the soldier boys are back home with their mamas. Some of the boys didn’t come back though, and their mamas are devastated. I can’t imagine even letting one of my boys getting hurt on the playground, never mind letting them go off to war when they might not come back.
    I think that the Germans got the wrong end of the stick when it comes to peace after the war. They lost a lot of men, and still had a lot to pay for the war. Italy didn’t have to give up much. I think that we could have treated the Germans nicer because they did what we asked, and we didn’t come through with our end of the deal. I hope that our boys coming home will be able to forget all the horrible things that happened to them in war, and not have to dwell on it every night in their dreams. I also hope that our economy gets better in the next few years because I am struggling to buy bread for my boys.
    America’s president, along with the British and French prime ministers, were in charge of what happened our countries, here in Europe. They said that Germany had to give up all of their air crafts, tanks, submarines, keep their army under 100,000 men, give up the lot of their colonies, and pay a lot of money to the other countries in the war. A lot of Europeans thought that Germany shouldn’t have signed the Treaty of Versailles because it gave them no hope. Russia had already left the Great War much earlier, and was now in the midst of a civil war. The veterans of the war think that it is not fair that some of the men who nobly served and die do now even get their own grave. I think the same thing.
    1. I feel the same way about the boys. It must be just terrible for their family if they didn't come home. I cant even imagine. Also, for the soldiers that have returned our prayers are with them, to try to help them forget about all of the horrible things they had to go through. They are really brave and amazing people for going through what they did, just for their country!
  49. Oh no I’m late! Did I really sleep through the end of the war?! Although I am happy that this ridiculous fighting is over and our German boys are coming home, I can’t believe what I have just been told. How could Germany have lost the war?! The enemies never set foot on our soil, and we were the first and the last ones fighting! Surely that has to count for something, but my neighbor told me that some Americans are blaming this war on us, which seems silly to me. All of my friends are angry about what is going on, but I am really just relieved that my children did not have to fight. I am also confused and still sleepy. (In case you were wondering.)
    The boys coming back from the war have seemed changed, not as happy and curious as usual, and this whole war was ridiculous. Germany got nothing out of it! We didn’t even get to go to the peace table, even after we became democratic, kicked out Wilhelm II, and accepted a cease fire!! We did everything they asked and they still didn’t let us join! This whole war was petty and ridiculous, but it wasn’t small in the slightest. I feel bad for all of our German boys who fought, and lost years of their youth in a war effort that gave us nothing in return. Haagen-Dazs Heineken: out.
    2. It's okay Haagen Dazs I guess we're both late. I agree with everything you're saying but I think the fact that our entire military got cut down so harshly is really the thing we should be worrying about right now!
  50. Germany shouldn't have been invited to the table. This made them actually think they are close to being as great as our alliance countries! Germany should be put through more hell. They may have been suffering, but why must the suffering stop? They did try to take over most of Europe.
    Anyways, the treaty is going to be signed. If anything, I hope it's worked out and signed not in the favor of Germany. Many men have died because of the carelessness of the dreadful Germans. Our alliance has strong countries and that's why German didn't stand a chance. We were smart for joining the alliance that we did and also stayed nuetral. My son Salvatore would've had to fight and possibly die if Italy fought.
    Italy should expand; taking over all of Germany. (They did lose the war, why should they keep their country?) That'd be the best thing for us to get out of this treaty. The war was Germany's fault. Countries lost so many men and Germany still gets to not only keep it's country, but stay unharmed? That's preposterous!
  52. Dirk Schrempf (Brett K.)
    I'm gonna be brief and to the point here. I hate every country that isn't Germany. I cannot believe that any of you silly little allied countries would even have the audacity to blame this whole war on us. Do you even know who Serbia is? They are the ones who started this damn war! They killed Franz Ferdinand and apparently this whole thing is our fault now. Cutting nearly our whole army down is terrible but when you take our entire Air Force away you're really grinding my gears. The fact that we were not even allowed a seat at the signing of the treaty is very annoying as well. This is just another reason not to trust those stupid Americans. They said that the League of Nations would work everything out but we get screwed in the end! Your whole 14 whatever's thing Wilson isn't really in our favor now is it! Well that's all I have for today I'm done with this whole blame Germany for everything nonsense!
  53. Well the war is finally over! What happened was the Treaty of Versailles was singed by Germany on June 28th on 1919 causing the war to finally end. As an Italian nationalist I believe that my country should have received a lot more than they did. Along with Japan and Russia we did not feel as if we got what we deserved out of the war. Italy worked so hard through out the war and they never gave up. Italy is the kind of country that will never give up, even when times are tough. I think all of the other countries are jealous of Italy’s passion towards everything they believe in. I know that Italy will always stay strong throughout everything they go through. Just like in World War One Italy will always stay together and stay strong.
    After the Treaty of Versailles was singed, Germany had to pay for the entire cost of the war! HA! They were blamed for the entire war, which is exactly what they deserve. Germany just complains and complains about how it’s so unfair that they are being blamed for the entire war but it was clearly all their fault! I just can’t believe that Germany even lasted through out the whole war. If it were up to me, Germany would have been the first country to be taken down I would have completely demolished them, right in the beginning of the war. Germany acts like such a tough country but they are really just very weak. Italy is the strongest country if you ask me. It’s not just all about how strong and how much power a country has, it’s about how passionate and how much heart a country has. And Italy definitely has all of that! ..... Well I’m just glad that the war is finally over! Even if Italy didn’t seem to come out on top, I know that they did. Italy could have done a few things differently, but in the end they did very good and they will be ready for anything else that gets thrown at them. Go Italy!
