World War II Has Ended!!!!

The Wars in Europe and Japan are finally over (hurrah), Hitler and Mussolini are dead and Tojo has been sentenced to death! FDR has also passed, Churchill has been voted out of power sadly (but he will be back,), and Stalin remains in power in the Soviet Union. The world now has to work to rebuild itself from the destruction from one of deadliest and costliest wars the world has ever seen. Death tolls are mind-boggling, and whole cities and nations have been destroyed. The only major World War II leader still in power is Stalin (god bless your soul Churchill), and no one can agree on what should be done for any of the allied powers or what should be done to the axis powers. Can there be any worse punishment for Germany or Japan that what has already happened?
Write 2-3 paragraphs on what you think should be done to restore peace and order to the world after 1945. This is partial fact but also your opinion on what needs to be done. Then respond to one other post. Then sign off your project for blogging from World War I to World War II is done!

  1. [And now the final post. Ahh, it feels so bittersweet to have this end…so I wrote a short story! Yaaaaayy! It’s terrible though T-T I know, 2 days and hours of working on this still won’t make this perfect, but I tried, right? A for effort? A?....A?.....*tumbleweed* maybe I’ll talk to myself a bit more. Word limits! They’re amazing and dysfunctional! I’m typing this text off of a document sooooo….I still don’t know how long this’ll be in the blog. Hmmm…more things to say…well, I guess we can move on to the story. LOUD NOISES! HA!!]

Three months. Three months since I’ve made this journey. Three months has my resolve been clear…since that mysterious message I had gotten from an anonymous source. I’m in America…to become a soldier against those Germans.

I noticed immediately as my ship docked that these Americans were bustling with resolve. Factory smoke arising, women taking action, many sights and sounds. I had once believed that America was full of lazy people who didn’t care about affairs that were not at their front door, and even if that mentality proved true, with Pearl Harbor being the even that sparked America towards war, I’m still taken aback by the motivation and help these “isolationists” are providing for the war.

I’ve been in training among other people, preparing to be sent out to war. This was a long ways away from being over, Europe’s winding down, but the Japanese aren’t giving up anytime soon. Tonight’s the last night I’m spending in America preparing, they’re shipping us off to Europe for an important battle that’s in the works. I walk over to the main hall and everyone beckons me.

    “Heeeyyy!~ It’s the f-frenchie…coommee join the party!”

They were obviously drunk. This was the last night to go all out with fun before we’re all plunged into war. I’m fearing for my life, I truly don’t want to experience death in battle. But…it’s my duty, for France, the message said. Father, if you’re watching me, or if you sent that note somehow, be proud of your son. I will avenge your death against those damn Germans!

But for now, I indulged myself in some liquor and drank myself drunk for the night.

I stumbled out of the house to return to bed. I was heavily drunk…yet I could still tell that the sun was starting to fall below the horizon. My eyes went blurry as I saw a truck in the distance. A red….cross…it’s the nurses. They were leaving early.

A figure had bumped into me, causing my legs to rock and give way. I was splayed on the ground in a drunken stupor, when a soft yet stern voice called: “Are you alright?”

I looked up and saw a nurse standing above me. “I-Iiiiii’mm alright, honeyyy….let me jusht..*hic* stand up…” The nurse helped me up and I dusted myself off. “Shhooo…you’re a nurse, eh? On your way out to Europe, by now?”

The nurse replied. “Sir, you should get some adequate sleep, and you really shouldn’t have gotten drunk before the day you leave. *sigh* Men...”

The nurse waved goodbye and walked off. Wartime mentality for women these days, they want to be tough like men. This woman seemed more stern than the other nurses. Maybe she’s been through and experienced the war already..

I dragged myself back to my bed and slept off the night, preparing for the day to come.

[As you may see for anyone who really read this far, this part is a little rushed…that’s because it’s a rewrite after a document saving catastrophe…ha]

    1. Soldiers had been taken to Britain to prepare for a battle that was planned on at an exact time and date. It was the end of May, in 1944, and the war was being pushed towards Germany closer and closer. This operation we’ve been informed about, Operation Overlord, was our attempt to break through the German occupied French beaches and open a front in the West of Europe, draining all hope that Germany had to win, if not already losing hope to win. My comrades became more somber after their fun night, and for good reason. They were off to war now, and we were given the shocking truth about this Operation: most: very few will survive, many will die to break through the German forces.

Under the clear sky of the full moon of June 6th, I boarded a boat that would soon be many peoples’ last cruise towards death.

The boat is rocking and making me sick. Anticipation had made me tense, but this boat is making my stomach churn even more. Nobody spoke on this boat. Everyone was mentally and physically preparing themselves for what was to come. I bet…many were still scared, with the high chance of death we’d been given. I was shaking and holding back a desire to freak out. How pathetic did I look? A French guy trying to liberate his own country, yet being scared to do it? No…I have a duty, a promise I made to my father. For France…for the integrity of Napoleon!

Cannons already started firing from the beach. I could see the battleground in which pure chaos would soon take place. This beach…was familiar. From times of peace, from times when war did not consume the lives of all of us, my father took us to this beach and all the beaches around it. To think, this once peaceful paradise for me would be a grave for many, a place where blood flows in rivers. I’m can only imagine the carnage that will happen during the battle, and I’m hoping for the best outcome.

The boat’s rocking came to a stop as we had made it to the beach. One foolish soul stood up and took a step towards the opening door of the ship, and was shot dead immediately. What followed was a scramble out of the boat and into the shallows of the beach, with lifeless bodies produced in hordes. As I slipped from my seated position to get out of the boat, a man’s limp body slammed on my head. I ignored him and dove into the water.

My hand grasped my rifle, but with the barrage of bullets coming our way and the need to stay alive and progress, rather than shoot, great, I tucked my gun on my belt and hid behind everything that could protect me. A guy next to me spoke in the chaos: “There, there’s an opening, come!”

Soldiers progressed separately while trying to communicate to others about where to go. It seemed that with every few yards that we progressed, more soldiers would be shot down and new ones rushed to replace them. The horrors I saw…severed limbs, blood pooling into the water and tainting it an evil red, soldiers screaming for their lives, soldiers dying to save others…I will never get those out of my nightmares anymore.

As I stood up in one moment of indecision, a bullet scraped a part of my skull and punctured my right shoulder. I writhed in pain, but nobody cared to come and help…they were fighting for their own survival. In my pain, I realized…these soldiers gave up much, their families, their dreams, their hopes….just to serve their countries. We are all the same on both sides, soldiers and units…killing each other for in this legal way of “war”. Who decided that war was ripe time to kill?

    2. My mind was weakened by the injuries. Should I just wait here and hope I don’t die, and play dead? Heh…I really did nothing for this battle…I just went in here to get shot and leave…I don’t need to be the one to save Fran- A voice wailed from a nearby pool of blood. A survivor. He pulled out his bag and took out a picture of a woman and passed it to me. “IIIf you…see her…tell her that…I…still-“ As I reached out to get the picture, a bullet sent him barreling towards death, and another bullet wounded my hand. I could still pick up the picture. After scanning it…it was the nurse I had met earlier. This guy had been in love with that nurse, I presume, but the war separated them. How…tragic.

I stood up and progressed on, past the bullet rain, past dead bodies, past bombs and medics futilely trying to save people, and towards one of the towers. When I got inside, a guy manning the gun was started and went to retailiate, when I pulled out my own gun and shot him back. My vision was covered in black spots at that point…another bullet scraped my skull. I limped out of the tower and collapsed on the blood-stained beach.

I woke up in a bed. Bandages covered my wounds, especially the two head wounds I had suffered. Looking back, I’m a miracle man…I survived and even took out a tower. Nurses and doctors were running amok with bodies and stretchers. It was as chaotic as the battle itself…was it over now?

A familiar face walked over to me and stared. It was the nurse I met back in America many weeks ago. She said: “Fancy meeting you again. You happened to be taken where I was stationed.” She had a very stressed face, but generally wanted to talk to all of her patients to calm them down.
I remembered the photo and took it out with my working hand. I showed it to her with shaking fingers and told her what I had witnessed. “This photo. A soldier told me to give it to you with his dying words. He says he still…loves you, at least that what I believe he was going to say before he died.

The nurse gasped and shifted her eyebrows in a forlorn sadness. “He…was my ex-lover. He dumped me a year ago. I angered him one day and he quitted the relationship. What you think he said is probably true…he quit so suddenly, but he was probably weighed down by the horrors of war.”

“That’s…really sad. I’m sorry for reminding you.” I said to him.

She replied: “No need to worry about me, you should be worrying about yourself. This battle is winding down, and it’s a great success. We’ll be moving towards Paris soon, and you’ll probably want to be there, right Antoine?”

I jolted. “How do you know my-“She interrupted. “Your name’s listed right here on this clipboard.”

      “Then….what’s your name?” I responded.

“I’m Marianne- Oh, I have more patients to tend to, I’ve got to go!” She left to treat other wailing patients.

    3. I went back on duty the next week. We were heading for Paris now…the place where father died. I will obliterate all of them. All of the Germans will pay for this war. I shook my fury off during the ride there to focus on my task. We would subjugate France…and then what would I do? Do I return home? Do I continue fighting in the war? My mind has only been on this war for years now, and I just yearned for peace.

Our vehicle reached the city and I exited. The invasion had begun. Soldiers charged in as confused Germans and their allies scrambled back. In my little German that I knew, one word came through from the Germans: “Retreat.” They heard about our victory at the beaches and were caught off guard. They knew that they’d be pushed back. They knew they were on the losing side now.

I resisted the urge to brutally murder one of the Germans now. France would soon be free again.

Many days pass as more and more of France was free, and the front line prepared to push toward Berlin. One commander who’s name I cannot remember even suggested that we charge full force and end this war already, and he got many soldiers backing him. That idea, however, was shot down, as we wanted to let the Russians take themselves and Germany out first. I’d personally want to end the conflict and claim our victory, but hey, this side of Europe’s pretty clear now, I can’t complain.

I still work for the military, but not in the front lines. I personally requested to stay back in France, I think that battle on the beach, which many are dubbing the D-Day, is enough for my lifetime. Hah, how did someone as skimpy and peace-loving as I even consider entering the military?

The autumn months of ’44 were coming, and it seems that time has been moving quite quickly. I visited my family for a little while when I was discharged, and has a heartwarming reunion after a year. I soon returned to Paris, and heard rumors of a strange man wandering around at night. So that night, I investigated with a fellow American-trained French soldier.

We wandered the alleys and suspicious spots, but didn’t turn up a thing. When we heard scuttling, we knew that we had found a lead. We followed strange noises until we actually spotted a cloaked man running around. “Hey you! Stay where you are! We mean now harm!” I said, thinking it was just a homeless man that I could interrogate. The man stopped in his tracks and turned, with his head down, lifted his hood, and tilted his face up…

      Delete
    4. It was my father. It was a miracle standing before me. He was alive, not well by my standards, but alive and kicking. The man smiled a crooked smile and said: “Antoine, my son, I’d recognize that voice anywhere. You’ve changed little even though I know that you have changed much.”

“Father, you live! That message that anonymous source sent me, that was you, yes? Why did you tell me to join the military?”

My father replied, scratching his head. “I can’t really tell you how I knew, but I knew what seemed best for you…at least that’s as far as the fourth wall allows me to say…anyways, it’s great to see you again after France had been- *COUGH COUGH*”

“Father! Don’t exert yourself! We’ll get you treatment!”

And thus ended my final hours as a soldier.

I made my normal rounds around town. April 30, 1945. It seemed as if days blended into themselves once more in their monotony. I resigned from the military, after much persuasion, and return to Vernun with my father. Victory in Europe was already in our grasp, and I pick up the newspaper to stay updated all the time.

Recent stories have come up about allowing the Russians to go into Berlin and have the first stab at victory. I’m sure it’s the same reason as before, to have more non-democracies kill each other, but it’s unsatisfying…after hearing about this war and the efforts and deaths to get to the end, the democracies should at least get a victory or a chance to wreak havoc on Germany.

I picked up the newspaper and found the headline: “Hitler Commits Suicide.” I threw the newspaper up in happiness. Finally, that b@$t@rd is dead! Germany’s lost for good…victory has come to Europe!

Sometimes, I forget that this war is only half over. The Americans are fighting Japan in the Pacific, with a great fury and attitude from each other, from what I heard.

Rumors has been going around about a “great atom bomb” by America, and it seemed to ludicrous to be true…until recently. America dropped a bomb on Japan 4 days ago, and dropped one again yesterday, singlehandedly making those stubborn Japanese , people who did know surrender, to surrender at last. I can be glad that this war is finally over for the world, but the method that America used for ending the war was ridiculous…I’m pretty sure that there was much debate about this before, but now that the devastation is realized, can the world put much blame on Japan’s terrible deeds with the terrible deed that America has just committed to Japan?

Either way, the world shall be in celebration and rebuilding itself once more, the second world war is over!

    5. Looking back at my experience as a soldier, I now have the experience of war and have become all the wiser. War is a haunting experience that can only be known firsthand. [And that’s why Voravich is writing fiction about it! Sigh…bear with me, I’m simply taking from the videos and what we read and saw..] These 4 or so years spend fighting seemed wasted, Germany simply went too far and we had to stop them. It’s like a fight between toddlers, except elevated to a deadly scale and it’s something that a world gets caught in. Only human nature has brought about this destruction, how silly is that?

My father, brothers, and even my mother pitched in to help rebuild France after the war. Although, we only have a little damage…I presume Britain and many other bombed places will have to patch themselves up after this war. It’s not only physical damage…it’s the political turmoil that needs to be treated as well. Germany will have to take most of the blame for the war, and in fact, all of the Axis Powers will have to take responsibility for what they did. America will deal with Japan in its own way, as the atomic bomb damage needs to be compensated for.

These next few years will be a rebuilding process indeed, but I can only hope for a bright future for the world. No more world wars, no more turmoil like this. Peace for our lifetime! Chamberlain would be wise to say that again now!

Augustine: “And to the blog, I shall bid you all adieu! Au revoir!”

Antoine: “Indeed, goodbye to everyone! It was nice to meet you all! Even if I didn’t talk a lot after a few posts ago…Anyways, goodbye!”

THE DAY HAS FINALLY COME!! EVERYBODY IS FINALLY LIBERATED FROM CONCENTRATION CAMPS AND GHETTOS! I REPEAT! EVERYBODY HAS BEEN LIBERATED FROM CONCENTRATION CAMPS AND GHETTOS! Man oh man is this day great! My family has been through so much these many years and it’s great and so relieving to finally be free from Hitler and the Nazi power! My family and I have been living with VERY little food and in such a cramp area for the past couple of years since we escaped the ghetto and were hidden inside the home of a close friend. Hitler has finally been defeated and the damn bastard committed suicide so that he wouldn’t have been taken alive and tortured if found. SEE?!?! This is what America can do when they’re involved with war! They finally free all Jews from their misery! There were so many things that happened lately that ended the war completely. For starters, Hitler’s last “hurrah” battle was at the Battle of the Bulge, where he eventually lost and committed suicide a short time after that. That ended war in European nations for good! Then, America had to go fight Japan in the Pacific and dropped the first ever, atomic bomb, over Hiroshima and Nagasaki. That bomb created such devastation to the two countries that were hit.
Boy I don’t even know where to start to the ways I would punish the Nazis and how to restore peace again in the world. For starters, I would want every living Nazi officer captured and tortured the way they treated us Jews in the ghettos and concentration camps. I want them to have a taste of their own freaking medicine! I wan them to suffer as much as possible o show them how they were treating millions of other people! Eventually, America held the Nuremburg Trials, and executed or imprisoned 17 Nazi officers. 17?!?! They punish 17 for killing 6 million Jews?!! HELL NO!! Then again, they did imprisoned other officers as well but eventually let them go due to good behavior. Some just simply escaped and should be captured and executed, in my opinion. If I were to get asked how I would restore confidence in the world again, I would have to say to have a committee of leaders from all countries all over the world to come together and to sign an INTERNATIONAL PEACE TREATY! America actually was planning on having an international peace treaty signed, but I honestly don’t know anything about that part (sorry Mr. V!). War should never be dealt with ever again, especially after one of the costliest and most deadly war in history! The peace treaty should say how one country should never attack another and how countries should help different countries. This “committee” should also be the new “League of Nations” if you will, deciding whether something a country does is acceptable or not.

    1. Ciao Asher, it’s Giovanni Monacelli (Alec S.). I wanted to tell you that I absolutely love the idea of everybody coming together to sign an International peace treaty because I too am done with all the hate. We are definitely on the same page with the effects of the war. I know for a fact that the world will not be able to handle another costly war of this magnitude. Fighting will do us no good anymore it will just cause chaos. We need peace. We need this treaty. And do not hate us Italians for having sided with the Germans because trust me, we hated them as much as you do. I hope that all of the countries involved can come to some sort of an agreement to keep peace and I pray that us Italians can become friends with the allied side one day.

  3. If you are reading these words then you are reading some of the greatest words ever put to paper. I have seen some pretty bad things in my life on this blue marble we call Earth. I thought it was a great thing that I killed my beloved wife. After years of nagging without end, yelling at me for kicking our daughter out of our house and sleeping in another room refusing to sleep in the same floor of the house as me, and refusing the American flag jumpsuit I bought for her saying “ When do you think I’m going to wear this abomination.” To make my point I made sure she was buried in it. My son and daughter still say they love me wherever I am. Also I forgot to mention that I have to change my appearance every so often because after all I murdered my wife and trotting down the street with Rosie the Riveter in the back of my head. What I’m trying to say is I shouldn’t have killed my wife and should have instead loved her more. Now I’m everywhere and everyone. Now when I want to get into my children’s houses to visit I have two passwords. For my daughter, who I gave my house to, it’s “I am the egg man” and my sons house, somewhere around a town called Milford, I have to knock two times then a slight pause then two more and say “I am the walrus.”

After the war ended and everyone was happy, I was in the shadows trying to survive on food from my dead friend’s son and small huts I made in secret spots around the state. Where do I begin about Harry “S.” Truman. I don’t like the guy at all. The first year that he’s in office he drops a nuke over Japan. War is a game. This game has rules. If someone cheats and you see a way to beat him without being like them taking the easy way out then why do it. I had heard about the numbers for attacking main land Japan and I thought that they were complete bologna. If you can get to the main island and threaten to kill there beloved emperor they probably would have surrendered. Now for the end results in Europe. That sweaty shirtless guy got his but whooped by the people in his own country, and then he got hanged in public. I won’t forget that guy with the mustache. I heard that he died in his underground bunker and those damn Russians got the credit for taking Berlin as our American forces were about to attack. I better stop talking about war before I get too mad.

These drugs that guy gave me is wearing off. Did I forget to mention that a guy in an alley gave me this stuff that keeps me from showing my crazy side along with Dr. Jimmy & Mr. Jim. The only time they come out is when I drink my gin. Now for my grand finally you will see the true crazy side of me! I’m sitting in my humble abode that is only a windowless shack with my luxurious bed made of twigs and a dead bear’s skin I found in the woods crawling with maggots. The only thing worth looking at is a picture that reminds me of my wife. It’s a dog that is taking a piss in her owner’s water well with a drowning little boy in it. I’m sitting here on top of a dumpster from that is shared by a child day care center, an Indian restaurant, and a morgue. In other words it I’m sitting on what smells like crap and dead bodies, it doesn’t smell that bad but again I was talking earlier drugged beyond belief and I would think it would be too crazy to think that my sense of smell is not as strong. So I’m waiting for the worms to eat my body as I lie dead in the ground so I guess this is it me. I’m going to do this. Good bye cruel world, I ‘m leaving you today. Goodbye, goodbye, … oh @$%& I forgot to make sure this is video taped. Here we go… goodbye to all of those who I love and held near. Goodbye.

  4. Its hard to believe that this entire, stupid ordeal is finally over after years of pain and agony that spread like wildfire across every continent, with a few exceptions. I must say, even though I have lived through the entirety of two world wars and have lost most of what I once had, my nationalism, my wife, and my prized possession, a framed portrait of the great french leader, Napoleon ( I loved that portrait like it was the real thing), the one thing I haven't lost is the will to live. I know that seems like it would be the last thing I would still have but so long as I can keep myself focused on the future, I can keep the hope for the next generation to learn from our mistakes and never let anything like this happen again.
I believe that peace can be made permanent through the understanding gained by these pointless pointless wars. that means no atomic weapons, no enslaving other people, punishments must be enforced on those who deserve it, no more appeasement bull-crap, don't let the crazy guy run the country, and certainly never, ever let great leaders like Churchill or FDR fall from power without remembering their greatness by using their ideals that helped in stopping something like this been have said in vain.
If we want this peace to last we need to keep a close watch on Germany and make sure those who deserve punishment get what they deserve, help Japan out a little bit with rebuilding ( you know, once the radiation is gone, thanks America ), leave civilians out of military conflict, and just plain stop being stupid and not resort to violence every time someone starts pointing fingers.

He seems... a little on edge after the whole atom bomb drops even though Japan surrendered. i guess he figures more people are going to make nuclear weapons in the distant future. He' ll be seen a the front runner of using nukes.. so he should be on edge.

    WE WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELL YEAH! Now
all that's left is to decide what to do about this mess of a world. My thought process is we rely on the USA to give us lot's of cash and goods so we can rebuild hoping we pay them back, don't pay
them back, destroy the rivetting machines, and everything will be knock-knock good-good! Aside from that, people need to realize Fascism really screwed the world over. Fascism needs to be banned.
We democracies can't rest easy until that cancer is cut out. So, we'll strongly suggest (force) all the countries we freed to accept democracy! Also, the League of Nations needs to be addressed.
The usefulness of it is about as useful as rainbows and fake tattoos.... Not at all. We should totes my goats just change the name around so people THINK it's new, but in reality be the same until
we can think of something better. We should also eliminate all this racism. I mean, racism made some thuper thuper bad stuff happen. Like, racism was arguably the reason this damnable war began.
Let's make everyone equal. Oh and the women too, technically.

And we need to give the practitioners of Judaism a country of their own. That way no one has an excuse to bug them or blame them or, you know, gas them. And, importantly, there needs to be
measures taken about this new atomic bomb. That puppy has the potential to ruin us! Being instantly vaporized has never been the way I wanted to go. And getting blisters and burns would be bad
news bears. With the power to destroy the world at their fingertips, Russia and America need to work something out. The League of Nations should be able to have that kind of power, among other
things, such as peacekeeping, but not peacemaking, since THAT isn't useful. Plus we should work towards stealthily weakening America with large slices of fat between bread called hamburgers even
though they'll be made of beef, and generally other technologies to make life easier and more fattening.

Forgive me, I seem to have begun to sweat out my eyes. This really is the last time I'll blog. Like, what else is there to talk about now that we've had two world wars? Looks like it's
time to sign off. I love you long time. All you lovely gentlemen and beautiful ladies, keep on keepin' on. Fight the good fight. Don't stick your hand into a pony's mouth. Eat all your green

    3. I agree: racism and fascism should be banned. And people shouldn't be so patriotic. I disagree about giving the Jews their own country. That would make it really easy to kill them all if something like this happens again. A couple atomic bombs and all Jews would be vaporized. If you leave them spread out, it takes longer to kill them all and gives more time to fight off the annihilator.

After seeing the brutality that has been caused by just one man, the world is going to be more aware of these types of scum bags. What we saw during this war will stick with us for the rest of our lives, so I hope the ghosts of your past do not haunt you, and you get shell shock. 6. Here yee here yee! The War is over!! A lot has gone on since my last post, like always. Before I start with the facts, I need to update you on my life. Do you remember way back when I said that I left my family and became a flapper in nyc? Well, we have reunited! Granted, they hate me and tried to sue me for abandonment, but I take that as a reluctant welcome. Also, my daughter became a teen mom and blamed me for leaving her in a “time of need”, so now I have a grandchild, Tyrome. He is a wonderful addition to our family. As for my son, he is a meth addict and is now living in Vegas. I hope to see him soon! My husband never wears his American Flag Jumpsuits I made him, because it reminds him of a troubled past. For me, the only trouble in my past was when I became a hobo, but that was only temporary. Nonetheless, it’s the end of world war two, and I have a feeling things are looking up.
For America, it started with a bang, and it ended with a bang. Literally a bang, because we dropped two bombs on the Japan and they eventually surrendered. The atomic bomb decision was Truman’s choice, and I agreed with it. Why waste all that money on something we will never use? It’s been pretty chaotic here, even with the war over. All the soldiers are coming home in bunches, now looking desperately for jobs, praying this will be the last war they have to fight in. many people are angry, mostly those in the military, because so many people have died, and for what? For peace? For freedom? No. for some pointless reason that almost no one will understand. I say we restore the peace by making an agreement with the other countries to not fight again, ever. I know, I know, this is extremely irrational and close to impossible. But may I remind you- we’re American- anything’s possible!!! Seriously though, haven’t there been treaties somewhat like that in the past? I haven’t taken history in a while, but I’m pretty sure there has. Oh wait I grew up as a semi-poor women in the 1900s; I didn’t even go to school. Well, that’s my opinion on how to restore order to the world. If only that was a manual: “how to restore peace and order after the second world war for dummies”. Because my family needs me now, I am going to sign off for the last time on this thing. But before I go, I have one question for all of you: if this is 1945, how am I writing an online blog? #theworldmayneverknow #howdoiknowabouthashtagstoo #itsamystery

  7. Ciao, it’s the one and only Giovanni Monacelli (Alec S.) here. I should be saying goodbye because who knows what is to become of my beloved country of Italy at this point. To me, being the extreme nationalist I am, it seems that life will only be going downhill from here. We lost the war, our leader is dead and us Italians are left to rot here in Italy. IT’S SO GOD DAMN DEPRESSING. I know that the news reports that Mussolini was captured and killed by the allies during the allied invasion of Italy in the year 1945, but I have something that may or may not be true that I would like to share. So get this, remember my lunatic of a brother, Giuseppe, and how he despised Mussolini? Well, let’s just say he carried through on shaving every hair off of that man’s body, and I mean every hair! And the worst part is that my brother sent me a portion of skin with hair in the male and he said, “This is the fat belly from the fata** you called a leader!” I don’t want to jump to conclusions but, I don’t want the history books later on to get it wrong. Anyways, life is depressing here in Italy, we don’t have control over our own country anymore and we definitely can’t afford to pay war reparations! I fear that a great depression like that of America a few years ago will occur. I am truly saddened by this because the once prosperous country of Italy is now the equivalent to a poopy flavored lollipop. We are a piece of junk. It could be worse though because we be the Germans. Their leader suffered the same fate as ours except he chickened out and killed himself, at least that’s what the reports say. I think otherwise, I mean it had to be the stache man! There must have been some alien parasite or some ghostly demon hidden in that thing. It just didn’t sit right on his face. Maybe Hitler was actually an okay guy and it was the stache telling him what to do all along! The allies are starting to punish Germany by having the Nuremburg Trials.
But I mean, I guess the real question is, where does the world as a whole go from here. We can’t just rebuild and forget because the damage is done and it has impacted the world in a fashion that will scar us as bad as a shirtless Mussolini. Oh how I wish we were just on the other side of the war from the start, then everything would be okay. We most certainly cannot forget this. I myself would love to have peace with the allied side because I like America. I just really hope America and the rest of the allies see it that way as they start to crack down on punishments. I understand that punishments have to be made, but what did Italy really do in the war. So what we supplied troops to Hitler which wasn’t even that many compared to the massive army he had built. I know that Italy would be willing to accept and keep peace with the allies if it was offered. If FDR was still alive, I bet he would see it as I do fore great minds think alike.

  8. I believe that the Germans deserve the largest penalty because Hitler took over so many places and ruined so many lives. There needs to be more done than executing officials. They should make Germany responsible for most of the war repayments in other countries and should have to give up all its conquered land. As for the punishment on Italy, haven’t they done enough!? They already killed our leader, well actually some people may have considered that a favor. I believe that Italy should be punished for siding with the Germans but not to the extent of what should happen to the Germans. We should have to pay war repayments and maybe sign some sort of agreement to keep peace or else the allies will come after Italy. Japan was punished a good amount for what they did because after all the were atomic bombed which was very devastating and killed many innocent lives. America should be punished for this, but they did win so that won’t be happening. As for Britain, the real victory was not winning the war, but was voting Churchill out of power. I have had a sixth sense ever sense I was a young boy. Some would call it a gift but for me, it’s torture. I SEE STUPID PEOPLE! I see Churchill almost everyday in my visions of stupid people. I feel like this is god telling me that Churchill just isn’t right in the head. Anyway, the real victory for Britain was getting the hell away from the leadership of Churchill. This is Giovanni Monacelli saying goodbye for the last time. (CONTINUATON)

    2. I agree with you in the sense that Germany should be blamed for the majority of the war and that executing officials is great but I don't think that makeing Germany pay war reparations is going to help. Remember what happened after world war one when we made Germany pay all of tis money we didn't even get it all back. I see what your saying about Italy and I agree a little bit I do find it fair that you guys pay some war reparations and split it with japan but well have to see about how muh is enough and how much is too much.

    3. I totally agree about blaming Germany for the war! They have done the most damage to the world. I also agree that more officials should be executed, because they did damage too and they don't deserve to get away with it! America shouldn't get any punishment, mainly because we won, and also because all we did was defend and stand up for ourselves.

  9. Hey Giovanni, i would also have to agree with your statement of giving Hitler and the Nazi the largest penalty because of what they did to so many lives. So many of my friends and relatives have died because of damn Hitler! For me, as a victim and a survivor of the Haulocost, I believe that the execution of every Nazi officer and official will be enough to punish those jack-wagons. However, i found out a few days ago that only 17 officers were either executed or imprisoned! HOW THE HELL IS 17 PEOPLE GOING TO MAKE UP FOR 12 MILLION DEATHS?!?!?! Anyways, it was good talking to you through these tough times of both World Wars. Hope all goes well Giovanni!

  10. In the very beginning, I shared two beliefs of mine: that war was horrible and Germany is awesome. Now I realize that only one of those statements was true. War is horrible. Only, Germany is also. I realize that both these World Wars happened because of nationalism, and powerful people saying “My country is better than yours.” I guess people just get carried away sometimes, and make mistakes. It’s just a vicious cycle: Countries make mistakes, mistakes make war, winners make treaties, treaties anger nationalists, nationalists make mistakes, and mistakes make more war. I will never stop, ever. Oh well. None of this would have happened if only enough people said no, like Frederick did. I guess my son’s death was in vain.
I don’t even care what happens to me anymore. I’ve already lost everything. My home was firebombed, and there is nothing left. As most of you know, Puck, my father, died shortly after the Japanese attacked America. He never got to see the end of the war. I retired from the Luftwaffe shortly after I last posted. After the Battle of El-Alamein, I got injured and was saved by a nurse named Marianne, an American nurse who just lost a loved one. I realized that there was no point. This little girl clearly was heartbroken, and reminded me of my eldest daughter, Brigitta. Brigitta had her baby, named Harry Kim. Abba learned to play the violin.
The home front was getting worse. Germany had been being bombed for a while. My hometown of Dresden was destroyed, but luckily my family was lucky. Only Hamnet died. Now I have only one male successor who will carry on my surname. I heard that America had made Atom bombs and was planning on using them in Japan. They said it would cause complete and utter destruction. MOO, like that was going to happen. Germany had surrendered at that point. With all the turmoil of being liberated, I barely noticed when VJ day happened.
Hans, Drizella, Jack, Rot, and Rivet all escaped to America before the Nuremburg trials, where they now help out the Americans in making weapons superior to the Russians. I think another war may be on the brink. Jack has befriended a boy named Jim Lovell, who wishes more than anything to set foot on the moon. Now Judith, Maria and I wait for news of what is going to happen to us. So long and fair well to all of you. I hope all your lives are wonderful. Live long and prosper, and lets all remember where we parked, now.
P.S. I have had a lot of fun overall with all the references to various things throughout the course of the blog. I hope you found them all.

My...to hear of Marianne's story before I met her was very sad, and now to see that she was involved in the war and helping out so many people...watching the horror and death...it's horrifying. I truly feel sorry for Germany, and I think my father feels the same way. I mean, Germany's full of b@$t@rds who invaded France and turned the world upside down for years, but all it started with was an ambitious leader and....ultimately, the Treaty of Versailles. After this war, I can only hope war only gets smaller and smaller in scale, until we have eternal peace. It was a pleasure to be of this "blog on the Internet", whatever that is. 11. I can't believe it the war is finally over and we’ve won. Congratulations to all of my allied forces we did it we beat Germany again, like usual. VE day, victory in Europe day, and VJ day, victory in japan day have occurred and celebration is ion the rise for us Americans. Laughter and excitement fill the streets of Time Square as our soldiers come home from war, but some families like mine has lost one or more family member. I had lost my husband during this war, such a tragedy, but on the bright side my son still came home in one piece. Well us Americans are certainly one of the luckiest countries on this earth because nobody ever steps foot onto main land America, so while everyone in Europe and Asia are rebuilding their cities were building our economy by selling everyone the goods they need. This time instead of being the arsenal of democracy were the arsenal of the world and Russia isn’t too happy about that. Even though Truman is a good leader I deeply miss my pal Roosevelt. He died before we could finish the war in the pacific which is really sad because he got us all the way through the war and he should have been the one to finish it. Also Truman didn’t really get us citizens like Roosevelt I felt like Franklin knew what we needed.
Anyways we need to figure out on how to punish the Germany. Well I guess we’ll have to hold trials for some people to decide if they are guilty or not. Once we punish the main leaders what should we do with the rest of Germany so that we can guarantee that another world war won’t occur again. Well dividing up Germany wouldn’t be the best solution because you know it will make them rebel. Also making them pay a bunch of money didn’t work last time so we can’t do that either. I think each major country on the allied side should pick one hundred thousand men to be Germany’s new military so that they can’t rebel back because they will not have an army on their side. This foreign military should only be temporary and then will be moved when the time feels right. Also I think that the allies should be able to have a few men vote for who the new leader will be so instead of fascism Germany should become a democracy. I hope Germany doesn’t hate us for the decisions we make for them, but that’s all I have today thanks and hope that all will be well you your families adios amigos.

  12. The war is finally over!! All my friends and family will return home to celebrate with the rest of America! Americans could not be more proud at this time! What’s better than winning a world war? Not much that’s for sure. What do we do from here as a country? We were lucky to come out so strong and not hit as hard as the other countries. The question is, now what do we do to get world peace? We first need to realize the consequences that were given to the enemy. We must first sign a treaty amongst the other countries agreeing on terms of land and power. This war created a ton of destruction to towns in Germany and Japan, maybe from our side we could pay for war reparations; we could take away land from enemies to show that we mean business and other countries could restore boarders of their land.
The enemies must realize what they have done wrong, but we must understand that what we do now could affect what happens later in life. Maybe we shouldn’t be so harsh and try to get peace, after all this war, we killed a lot of civilians and soldiers from both sides and we wouldn’t want this to occur again. A treaty would be the best solution. Germany should maybe decrease the size of their army. We have to do something to show that we are the stronger country. To really restore peace, Japan and Germany would have to become democratic and change their mindsets of being these brutal, killing people. Restoring peace with the world would be difficult, since there are so many countries to deal with. All of the countries need to not be selfish and treat everyone equally.

  14. Hello! Hello! Testing, “One, two, three”…. Greetings everyone I am Isak’s son, David. My father is on the ground right now and his breathing seems heavy. He told me to finish his thoughts if he never made it, and I will do as he wishes until the day I die. I can’t recall everything he told me to tell you guys, but I will do my best… He told me that he thinks many things should be done after the war is over. He said that they should firstly figure out a way for all of the countries involved in the war to go to an international meeting (like a very large Munich Conference). He thinks that at this meeting all of the countries and their translators should discuss what things should be done in order for a war like this to never happen again. For example, if they decide and agree that all countries must have certain permission before sending their army into someone else’s country, then they should set a strict punishment with this rule to keep it firm. (Because Germany always has to break ALL the rules). For example, the punishment could be for the invading country to pay the country being invaded gold. Next, all of the participants in the war should have to sign an International peace treaty, which limits the start of another war. Thirdly, all countries must take equal blame for the participation in war (bombing each other, destroying whole cities, etc…), however acts committed that are against innocent lives and civilians should not be tolerated. Just like The Nuremberg Trials, all of the offenders of civilians and innocent people will be trialed, only this time more of them will actually have to face a punishment for their deeds. I don’t think that the six million Jews, up in heaven, are really feeling any justice delivered to them with just seventeen Nazi officers being punished! On top of this, all members in the trial that attempt to escape should be executed immediately. After punishing all those who committed acts against the helpless civilians, there should be some type of group set up which keeps an eye on things making sure that all countries abide by the rules set up in the international meeting. My father just had these demands down, I don’t have many good ideas, but I do have some…. I’m going to try to make it quick; I need to help my dad ASAP. He’s not looking too good… (see next post)

  15. In my opinion, I can only say that we should try and solve all of the political crisis and hatred that is going on between all of the countries. If we can create a mutual understanding between all of the countries, give them a proper amount of time to rebuild, and help each other in forgetting the past then maybe we can ALL act like HUMANS and never go through something so bloody and costly ever again. Maybe seeing this war was enough, but we can also train the coming generations on what has happened from 1939-1945. If we can all take a moment out of our lives and tell our children or students (if you’re a teacher, YAY Mr.V) about this war and what the effects are, then maybe this level of knowledge and education is enough to create a lasting peace that can last as long as our species does. Lastly, if we can all help each other build up from this mess, then we can become closer and form a common understanding. By helping each other then the racism can also be eliminated through this. Since the racism played a vital role in WWII, we can prevent it from happening again by gaining a common or mutual (if you will) understanding among ourselves. This way we can have some more stability. I’m officially running out of ideas and room to write at this point… I hope that ending wasn’t too crummy for you (I don’t know much about all this history stuff). My dad may return to blog again sometime his life, but for now I need to help him. We have been eating this soup and it came from a secret market place during the Siege of Leningrad. My family and I all ate it and now I don’t know what will happen to us. All I know is that my throat has been feeling burnt lately. Well I guess this is it for good. My first and last goodbye to all you wonderful people. До свидания навсегда. Now I beg you, please pray for my dad. I don’t think that he has much time left. All I could do for him was complete his last post. I don’t know what’s wrong with him…DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY ADVICE?

  16. It’s finally over. The second great war has cause me my life (metaphorically), my home, and many, many of my friends and families life. This war has done nothing but kill, and ruin people lives, just like the first great war. Although things can get better. When I arrive back in America, I can start a whole new life there. My past will be behind me and I can start new with my family.
Now that the war is over, no one knows what to do. From 1945 and on, nothing like this can never happen again. There needs to be peace in the world. And even if war does break out, it just cannot be as bad as this. The League of Nations failed. The idea is good, they just didn’t do anything. There should be something like that, but actually helps out in chaos and crisis. Whenever something that could be big, or something bad is happening, they should step in and eliminate the problem before it gets out of hand. That’s what I think should be done to stop things like this so they will never, ever happen again.

I'm proud of America for all that we've done to come out on top in this war, and I'm proud of myself for fighting for our freedom for awhile before I retired. I'm looking forward to staying home now with my wife and kids. As for moving on as a country and as for our world in general, it'll be tough. Time cannot erase the deaths and violence that have disrupted our world. It just goes to show how humans can viciously turn on each other and how inhumane we can become, it really gets a guy thinking. I think we can restore peace by putting this war behind us, even though it will be very difficult. As I've often said, I don't like getting involved in foreign affairs, and I do think I should only be worried about America for the time being. However, we should think about the other countries and offer a helping hand for them to get themselves back on track. Whatever we have to do to make this world right again, as long as we can still keep America on top.
It's been a wild couple of years, but I'm ready to leave the wars in the past and move on to the brighter future of not only America, but the world. I've truly opened up my eyes with these experiences. Goodbye, fellow bloggers.

  18. The war is over and I am disappointed as is every other German. We lost and the allies won. I don’t know what to do anymore. The right decision now is to get drunk out of my mind. The good news for me is that I came across a time travel machine and went to the year 2020 and got me one of those square pieces of metal with glass on the front that lights up, I guess they call it an iPhone. Just from being there, it shows how much better it is be before than then. So I immediately went back in time to my time so I wouldn’t have to deal with this Miley Cirrus girl and her twerking and Justin Bieber and why he hasn’t been deported back to Canada. I then decided to blog and walk at the same time while I was walking to the bar ( I heard that this was called multitasking from the future).
    “Stumbles and falls”
Where’s the bar, ohh yeah we were bombed and have nothing left. Dam it!!!!!!! By the way I became an alcoholic after D-Day because I realized that we were going to lose and then Hitler made a dumb decision to do the battle of the bulge, that what did it for us. Then when Hitler killed himself that was officially the end. No more booze, what is this. While America and Britain are celebrating, we are left with nothing not even a bit of beer left.
    “Gets a twitter notification”
What the hell is this, T-w-i-t-t-e-r, huh???? It was posted by John Swartz; hey my last name is Swartz. It’s a picture of me with something called #Throwbackthursady underneath it. Well I don’t care anymore screw this iPhone.
    “10 minutes later”
I am finally back on my computer. Now what will happen to us? There are rumors going around that Germany is going to have to pay them and so will Italy and Japan. I know that we did a lot of bad with the holocaust and all but I think that we shouldn’t get too harsh of a punishment. My town of Dresden has been bombed to bits and it will probably take years to rebuild. I mind as well just move to America where all is well (including those tacos from Taco bell). I think that they should make us do some war penalties and sign a treaty saying that this will never ever happen again. So this is Maximillian Swarts signing off at 12:00 pm on the dot. (for the 4th time in a row)

  20. The War is over!! Even though I, Adolf Hitler, father of the famous Adolf Hitler RIP, absolutely adore war. I must admit however, I am quite glad that all the fighting is over with. It was too much destruction and killing. Now we have to figure out what we are going to do to rebuild basically the entire planet. I think we shouldn’t punish Germany that bad, I mean its not like we actually took over the whole world. We didn’t even destroy that much. It was a good run while it lasted and I believe we should just go back to the way things were before the war started.
However, we should definitely get rid of that awful country, Japan. They are a disgusting country who rapes little kids in China. I actually like the Americans for demolishing basically their entire country with those sick new atomic bombs. I think the new United Nations should divide that terrible country up and sell it to the rest of the world.
I must angry because right now, Germany is divided up and all of the other countries have little bits and pieces of us. They should just leave us alone and keep a close eye on us! I mean I don’t think we will be able to pull anything like what we did in World War 2 for a very long time

  21. World War 2 is over! It has been a long war, and I'm glad it's over but my country, Germany, lost. It's horrible to be part of the country that caused this war. For any German citizen, it's sad to see Hitler's reign of power come to end, but he really needed to be stopped. What he was doing was unacceptable. Now that the war is over, hopefully we won't be treated as badly as after World War 1. The severity of punishment against Germany could start yet another war, that's partly why this one started.
There is still a long way to go before peace is restored even though the fighting is over. To start, Germany should be punished, but not too much because of the danger of another war. Because it is almost impossible to put everyone involved in the mistreatment of the Jews on trial, the people who organized the camps and were in charge should be heavily punished. No other countries should be punished because they were pretty much forced into the war or Germany would have taken over Europe. Other countries already have enough repairs to do because of Germany,so further punishment isn't necessary. I hope the world finds a way to restore the peace and prevent another huge war like this one.

  22. Oh, happy day, happy day. The world can finally rest now that all fighting has ceased. Ello, mates Oswald reporting to you for one of the last times. I know your lives will be terribly sad without my fantastic war reports as well as information about my life, but you will have to suffice. Yeah, its been rough these last few years. The Great City (Britain) is in shambles, I mean there is barely a building left that is taller than two stories. But we shall rebuild it! It shall be twice as big and five times a better! There shall be statues of Winston Churchill and myself everywhere to commemorate two of the greatest leaders during this war. Ah yes, I can already see it now. But, that is the game plan for the next decade, as well as reasserting our power over the world. See, we kicked the Germans out of Africa to protect the Suez Canal which gave us access to our colonies in the east. But after a secret meeting, we decided out of the good graces of our heart to give those countries their independence. Personally, I have no problem with this, but we should have dun it after we finished rebuilding because were a little scarce or recourses right now. Also, we now loose a large chunk of products to sell hindering our market.
I don’t think that were going to be the only country with some problems either. I mean, those French jellyfish had it worse that we Brits did. For a while they were under Nazi control so lord only knows how many youngsters thought the Nazi was the correct way. Also, as much as it pains me to say this but the Germans aren’t going to be having much fun either. See, that brute Stalin has the policy of where ever his army went during the war should be controlled by Russia. So, about half of Germany is controlled by the Russians. Also, the Russians and Americans are feuding about something. Lord only knows how long this will last. But, right now I wouldn’t mess with the Americans. I know I’m a tough guy and all, but I don’t think I could survive a blast wave that would instantly vaporize me. The Americans are kind of top dog right now because they are the only ones who possess nuclear bombs. Also, their country wasn’t revenged by bombs and didn’t suffer economically. But seeing as they are decent people, word has it that they’re going to send billions of aid to Europe to help rebuild. As nice as it may be, I think this may have financial repercussions in years to come. All they need is a couple of leaders who spend money willy-nilly and they might sink faster than the Titanic, but if they elect some Winston Churchill’s, more Franklin Roosevelt’s, and some Oswald’s they will thrive.
Well chaps, were coming to the end of a long fight. These past two wars have given us some great leaders and some brutal ones. It has shown us the hardest of times and the devastation a human can cause. It has destroyed entire families but built great and everlasting kinships that are not constrained by borders. It may have almost wiped out an entire race of people, but has created a new one. One that is more conscience about what his neighbor is doing. One that uses logical though before acting. One that shall not waste the efforts of all those who have sacrificed their lives to ensure one thing, and that is peace. Peace through unity of all people and all nations.
Good bye mates. Oswald signing off for the last time.

  23. Bonjour! The war is over at last! The allied forces have pulled out the win! I couldn’t be happier. After the destruction and horrible terrors the Germans have put me through, I am glad they have finally been put to a stop. If the Germans had won, I don’t know what I would have done with myself. The Germans were way out of line. They were way more brutal then they needed to be, and they were committing crimes that were too unsuitable even for a time of war! If I was a German I don’t know how I would be able to live with myself. Just think about it, now the Germans have to live with the guilt of killing millions of innocent people. But, everything happens for a reason and I believe that Karma came and bit the Germans right in the butt. Did they think there would be no punishment for their cruel actions? Well, that just shows you how whack the Germans were!

Now the decision is what to do with the Germans ….. and the Japanese. I don’t really care what happens to Japan. Japan had more of a conflict with the Americans than us, so I will support whatever the Americans decide. If they want money from the Japanese, fine. Heck if they want to kill them all I will support that too! (Ooh that sounds worse than I expected, I’m really a pretty good person if you get to know me) But as for the Germans, I want them to pay! I want them to suffer! I want them the feel the pain I did! Feel the sadness! Feel the fear! I want them to feel how it feels to be starving! See their own bones popping out of their flesh! I want them to smell the smell of rotting flesh! I want them to feel how they made ME and millions of others feel!!! Personally I would like to see anybody involved in the crimes committed, during the war killed. It may be a large chunk of people but we can’t let them go on thinking the things they did were suitable and alright to do, even in a time of war. If we don’t punish them now for their harsh killings they may think it is alright to do in the future. There are punishments for your actions and I believe if you knowingly took away someone’s life, than your own life should be taken away as well. Then, I also think that the Germans should pay the countries they attacked some amount of money for the destruction and loss of life they caused. To me, it only seems fair. The least the Germans should do is to give us some money to help repair our countries.

When making the decision of what to do with Germany, we also have to be sure to keep in mind what went wrong with the punishments we gave Germany at the end of World War 1. We certainly don’t want to repeat the past. We have to be sure to punish Germany wisely. We have to make decisions that won’t overly upset them. My thinking is that we pick a new leader of Germany that we can sort of trust. Then, I think we should build up strong troops that surround Germany and keep them from rising to power (through fear). Also, another crucial thing the allied powers need to do is reinforce the League of Nation’s power. They did crap in keeping the peace. If we build up a stronger League of Nations it will hopefully keep countries from trying to rise to power and ACTUALLY keep the peace. Well, those are my suggestions. You know what? I think my ideas are pretty good, like Napoleon good! Too bad no one important will probably ever see them (besides Mr.V of course). Well guys, this is my last post and I would like to dedicate it the one and only Napoleon, the greatest man who has ever lived. You will ALWAYS be #1 in my heart. Man my life sucks. The only thing I have to live for is writing these blogs. I wish I was Napoleon.

  24. May 7th, 1945 is the date and the war is finally over and my prayers go out to the families who have lost loved ones in battle and in camps. It's great to know that the rule under Hitler is over. Hiding is not a problem anymore, and me and my family are out in the streets. The first thing we did was go out and get some food with money we found in a safe and it was amazing. I'm happy to say that Hitler is dead, but i'm not so sure that he committed suicide, i think the Russians killed him and said he committed suicide. It doesnt matter to me what the truth is because we are free. It's amazing what happens when America and Russia join together as one. So the story now is that America is on its way to Japan to destroy them because they bombed Pearl Harbor. I wish them luck in their adventure over there.
I want all the SS officers and everyone connected to the Nazi's to be punished cruelty or put to death. What they did to the Jews was terrible and inhumane. They should go through what the Jews did but only 10 times worse. Luckily most of them were punished when America held the Nuremburg Trials, but sadly only 17 were put to death. Millions of Jews were killed by the SS officers and America only executed 17, that's not right. All the others were either imprisoned or put on probation. America needs to hunt down all the others that escaped Germany. Something needs to be created soon that allows peace and prevents this from happening again. I think WWII will go down as one of the worst wars in history. The League of Nation needs to start stepping up and getting in the middle of these wars because they haven't done anything to stop these countries from doing inhumane things.

  25. Finally! The war is over! And the world can be in peace now. Screw the Germans and s/o to the Americans for always having our back during this war and us having there’s. Although if it wasn’t for Churchill we would have fallen to Germany and this war would be completely different. How dare those japs bombing Pearl Harbor. As a result it was a stupid idea, because them bobbing America made the U.S. Just crush the crap out of them and showed them who’s boss. America finished them of by dropping to atomic bombs on them and ended the war!!!! Moreover prayers go out the civilian japs because America killed them when there military didn’t surrender.

  26. Finally, the war is over! It took so long to finish it, I can barely remember how to lead a life that isn’t consumed by war. The Allies have defeated the Axis and, hopefully, peace can be restored. Considering the amount of destruction done to every nation physically or, even, emotionally, I feel that Germany and Japan need to be reprimanded. If we don’t do something to make them see their actions were wrong, how will they learn? Although, this is a tough decision considering what happened after the Treaty of Versailles! Truman surely has his hands full. If only it were possible to have peace, after everything we’ve been through, it seems impossible. How do you punish someone, but also not punish them “too much”? Every European country is in repair, and we all know that Germany is in no place to be paying compensations! I believe that the first step to turning life back to as it was before all these wars, is to persuade the population to become democratic, clearly it has worked for America!
I think the hardest part of finding how to restore peace is when you’re working with the Communists. No one wants to budge, the Communists nor the democrats, and yet everyone thinks they’re right! If everyone could put aside their tactical views of how to deal with Germany and focus on sustaining peace, then, I believe, the chips will fall into place. As for the Japs, it’s like dropping the bombs made everything they did seem insignificant! They murdered so many innocent people, and America just wanted to end the war. Obviously, now there has to be safety precautions, so that everyone doesn’t blow people into smithereens testing out their new atomic bombs! A new leader should be put into place, and democracy should be practiced throughout Japan, then maybe peace could be a reality. Once every country and nation has time to recuperate after this deadly and costly war, then we should begin to think about compensations and punishments. One way to restore peace is to convict those who have severely violated the law. We must show that doing such horrendous things won’t be tolerated in the modern world! If we let their actions go unpunished, it only allows for people to believe it’s ok. All I can say is that having another war is not an option! I am done with it all, the loss of lives, the loss of morality! Something better than the League of Nations needs to be created, something that can be used to act as a referee for all the tension. I just America to curl back into its shell and, if we can find peace and lead by example, then the other nations will follow! I don’t want to have my family to have to witness another war, everyone has been through so much, we’ve lost brothers, friends, neighbors, and I think everyone is fed up with it. I can wish for nothing more than to have things turn back to normal, because then, and only then, can peace be restored. After the devastation we have faced, I don’t know how to make that possible, so much for the greatest generation. Signing off for the last time, this is Martin Smith.

  27. After so many long years, the war’s finally over. I’m glad that imp not fighting in it anymore but I was only lucky to get away. I managed to escape from the Russian army at Stalingrad. I was trying to protect this family from the constant firefights but… they didn’t make it. It was only me and a little girl named Valentina. She was living under ruble and debris with her family. I tried to lead them to safety but we were ambushed. Her dad shielded her and the mother shielded her brother, to no anvil. She was the only one that survived… I brought her through the sewers and out of the city. We escaped Stalingrad on foot after that. I brought her back to my family after about 4 months of traveling and just decided to adopt her. We immediately snuck out of Russia after that.
We all knew it wouldn’t get better anytime soon. Europe was in shambles along with the rest of the world. Everyone would rebuild but no one can “rebuild” the way everyone has acted throughout the war. Society won’t be the same after this. The evilness of it all won’t go away in n instance. Of course we can all forget and ignore what happened throughout this whole ordeal… But it won’t be gone. It never will. We all jut n only look forward to see what comes next. That’s all we can do. We found a way into America and now I’ve finally achieved my lifelong dream of being an actor. America looks like it hasn’t been in any war by the looks of it. Everyone is so… happy. No one seems affected at all by the war. Sergei and Valentina made new friends. Betty became a florist like she always wanted to. Everyone’s happy here. Including us.

  28. Thank God the war is over! The Allies have won and I couldn’t be happier. As you know, I went to serve in the army since I needed a job. Returning home was wonderful. There were parades and everyone was overjoyed. I’m lucky to be back home with my family now and living a normal life. All of us Americans are lucky because we don’t have to rebuild anything since no one set foot in America. The Europeans and Japanese have to rebuild entire cities as we sit back and decide Germany’s fate. Serves them right, messing with America.
Obviously, Germany needs to be punished. Making them pay money or limiting their army didn’t work last time, so we need a new idea. In my opinion, we should just kill the Germans since they dragged America out of isolation and into the war, but that would only anger them. We could split the country of Germany into new, smaller countries ruled by the allies. That way, one of the new countries is not strong enough to start yet another world war. They should also become democracies. The last thing we need is more communist nations like those Russians. Even though we worked with them during the war, I don’t trust those Russians at all. Well, this is my last post. I’ve had a great time writing these and I hope you all enjoyed them!

  29. FINI!!! The War is over! Germany has lost and the Allies have come out on top again. This time the war was not just soldiers killing each other but innocent people have been killed for no good reason other than they were in their home country or because of their skin color and religion. Germany should no longer be around to have the possibility to even do such a thing for a second time. I know that I am not alone on this thought. Plenty of people in Europe and in Asia with The Japanese think both of those countries should be broken apart.
Hitler is dead and Mussolini is dead leaving only Tojo left, which he should be put to death for the awful war crimes he had ordered on Chinese people. But then again America dropped the A-Bombs on them, when they were already willing to surrender. But two big bombs didn’t do the atrocities the Japanese did on people. I don’t know what Stalin will do with the new leaders of America and Brittan. I guess the only thing left to do is to cut apart Germany like an animal at the slaughter house.

  30. THE WAR IS OVER, hallelujah. My family is free!!!! We’ve been liberated from the Ghetto!!! This is simply the best day of my life! Me and my family have been living in a rundown ghetto for a long time but now we are free. I will never forget the starvation, pain, and fear that my family and I endured living in this ghetto. The terror that we were faced with just trying to stay alive, while others around us were slaughtered was unbearable. I cannot believe that that coward Hitler killed himself. I’m glad that sick man is dead, but I was really hoping that he would face consequences for what he has done. I really wanted him to realize how terrible he made our lives and how terrible of a person he is, but that damn coward killed himself instead.
As for Germany, I feel that their consequences should be significant. I feel that Germany should be wiped away from earth, and the land that Germany occupies should be given to the allies. I also think that every German officer should spend life in prison, or better yet put to death. How could people do something like that? How could anyone murdered 6 million innocent people based on their religion? Words cannot describe how angry I am right now. I hope that every single Germany that had anything to do with the war, or the holocaust, or anyone who even knew about what was going on in the camps be put to death. I also believe that Germany owes the Allies and the rest of the war A LOT of war repayments. I don’t have as strong an opinion on Japan and Italy as I do with Germany because I did not experience them first had like I did the Nazis, although ive heard rumors that the Japanese were more brutal than the Germans. All of the Axis powers better give up their country to the allies and pay for all of the war repayments of the war.
Word is spreading about the Nuremberg Trials and how ONLY 17 GERMAN OFFICERS WERE TRIALED GUILTY. Only 17 people were found guilty for killing 6 million innocent people??? My rage is so great I cant contain my anger!!!!!!( Throws chair out window) They should charge every damn solider that fought for the axis powers, or every person that had anything to do with the Nazis!!!!! ( chucks book at his soon) HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE!!! ( Throws brick at basketball hoop, misses) This infuriates me so much , im done wrighting these posts, im going to march up to Germany myself and make all those bastards pay. (puts on coat) Goodbye.

  31. The war is finally over! We are free and no one will ever take that from us again! There can finally be some peace and quiet in the city instead of hearing bombs going off everywhere. My family and I are not sure if our home survived. I will truly miss that rug my wife picked out before the war started. It is going to take a long time to completely rebuild Europe. The world is still in chaos and no one is sure what is going to happen. They need to make a new league of nations. I think Wilson had the right idea, but the world was not ready for it. Now is the perfect time to create something new and useful out of the rubble. If it is properly constructed this could prevent future wars and help people rebuild. Hitler killed himself and Mussolini is dead. I still think the Nazis need to pay for what they did in some way. Not enough people were punished for the terrible things they did. Some of them get to walk off unharmed while the rest of us clean up the mess. The number of people dead is unimaginable, and there is only a tiny fraction of that number that is paying for it. It does not make any sense. The Nazis are murderers and do not deserve to see anything but a cell wall. You could ask almost anyone who had to endure this war what they think should happen and they would tell you that the Nazis need to be punished. I have hope that this will all be figured out and that things will get better. I am so thankful to Britain and America for defeating Hitler. Who knows what would have happened if he hadn’t been stopped. It was already so terrible I can’t imagine anything worse than what happened, but I am sure Hitler could have come up with something. America won the war in the Pacific. I am not sure what is going to happen over there. From what I have heard it was more brutal than the fighting here. My family and I are going to leave Germany. It is too difficult to stay and easier to go. Maybe we will go to America.

  32. ATTENTION! World War II is finally over! A lot of events have taken place since the last time I updated my blog, but what else is new?!? My jumpsuit company ended up being a success, only for a little while, because of our seamstress, Jane Smith, abandoned me after she made enough money to reunite with her family. Whata jerk! I was able to make enough money to get the Snazzy Jazzy club back, but now all I have to do is fix it up so it will be just like the good ole times! Maybe after things settle down, we can get back to what America was once like! I bet by selling off some of these extra jumpsuits, I could ignite a flame of nationalism in some of these Americans!

Well, now that the war is over, the whole word is kind of at a standstill. The next thing that we need to accomplish now is restoring the peace. Everyone should practice democracy and focus on the reasons why the war was provoked. Maybe by addressing the issues that caused war, we can fix them so war never happens again. Also, America should help restore land in Japan after the bombing that took place, especially in Nagasaki and Hiroshima. This would prove that we are able to work with any country, no matter what our history with them is. After settling agreements, we should review the acts of violence that were used in the war and sort out the things that are worth punishing people for. We can’t have Nazis walking around their country after they have killed about 6 million Jews! Who would even give them the right time of day! They definitely need to learn what is wrong from what is right and they only way we can show the public that these types of acts are not okay, is if we lock them up in prison. We should give them some jail time to demonstrate the life that the Jews had in the concentration camps and how much of a ‘living hell’ it really was to be there. Other than seeking justice, I have no problem with what America does after war.

I guess that’s it, so I’m signing off,

  33. Karlheinz Kruger here again. A very disappointing day for us Germans, i am very ashamed that we have lost and i no longer want the "glorious" title of being a German. Seeing that our leader killed himself we now have a reason to say that even though war was good and we were triumphant for a couple years, Hitler was more of a coward than us citizens were. If i was him i would've gone down with the army and died in battle. I can see his reasons for doing it though, the amount of torture that he would have gone through would've been extensive and all public for the world to see so that everyone that he affected could see his pain. That being said i truly do wish that i wont be punished for being a citizen of our not so great country. I also wish that my dear son Dragobert will come home after his prison sentence, I haven't seen him in years, and all i can do is hope that he may get out early. Thank god he wasn't a high ranking officer because he couldve been one of the 17 that were sentenced to death, if he was i would have no other family to be with, i forgot about my other sons, and i dont even know if they're even alive, i barely even remember their names. I honestly haven't even seen my wife in about forever, i dont even know when she left she's just gone. Everything is ok though, so long as i can live out my life normally i will be fine.
Back to the war though, i honestly blame the soldiers and generals at the invasion of Normandy, we had 3 years to build up ours walls and fortifications and we still failed to prevent them from invading. If we had not let them in, the other front wouldn't have opened up and fighting Russia wouldn't be as much of a problem if we pulled back our troops during the winter, AGAIN, we did that and got screwed over. Plus our last hurrah at the battle of the Bulge and we lost that. Slowly but surely we just lost because we couldnt control all the land, and our soldier just couldn't keep fighting anymore after so much of being pushed back. Also those damn Italians just couldn't hold them off from their own country and we had to help them as well, which just spread out all of our troops and thats how we lost really.
Lastly if we are to have any peace in Europe anymore i believe that we should help out the other countries in some way, shape, or form so that 1. we wont be hated as much, 2. if we were to have to go into another country we will be accepted as just regular people. Honestly i probably couldnt even explain to the families that have lost someone close to them in that war because of us how sorry i am, i have no idea how you feel but i am truly sorry. Hopefully peace may be restored everywhere and this grudge against us will be forgotten. Goodbye to this blog, and thank you for reading, Karlheinz Kruger.

The dumbest President ever in U.S. history who brought America into bloody World War II, Franklin D. Roosevelt, is now dead. Now, Harry S. Truman is President and is proving himself to be the greatest President America has ever had. It was Harry S. Truman’s decision to drop the two Atomic bombs on the bloody Japanese and if only we had more, there would have been any Japanese left.
So far for punishments, Japan barely got punished! The war criminals were put on trial of course, but still the people of Japan didn’t get any punishment! And everyone feels bad for Germany and their punishments! For goodness sakes people, did you forget how many people Hitler killed? He killed over 10 million people in these concentration camps and Germans you can’t say you didn’t do anything when it was you that voted him into office! So live with the punishments!
America went through the Great Depression and then went off to World War I and II. But where all of a sudden did we get the money to lend to other countries? America needs to isolate for once and for all! Peace and order doesn’t need to be restored to the world for even if America does try to restore peace in the world (believe me they won’t listen to me!), countries are still going to go to war with each other and that’s just how people are! What America needs is to isolate, get everyone in the country (and not in other countries) jobs, food, money, and figure out its own problems without going to war again.
My daughters have returned from war horrified over the things they saw over seas. Both my daughters are now happily married to army men they met on the boat back from France. They have both settled down and plan on staying in America for the rest of their lives. I will not give up on the isolation of America.

Richard Pine died sadly of a heart attack at an American Isolation Protest he organized on April 25, 1958.

THE WAR! T'S FINALLY OVER! Although I am still mourning over my family, I think the deaths of Adolf Hitler and Mussolini are almost more than enough repayment for them. The hole will always be in my heart, but I think it can be patched up. I am eternally in debt to the Americans who not only helped us win the war, but I look to as hope for helping us rebuild the French nation, as it has been damaged during the war. I do believe that the ruins of many of our exquisite towns can be rebuilt to their former glory, but all of our money and effort has been put into this wretched war.

As I mentioned earlier, Hitler and Mussolini are now dead. That is only the beginning of the punishment that should be coming to the Axis powers. I WANT BLOOD for all the years spent fighting. I don't think that Germany and their people should be getting off this easily. They murdered millions of innocent people and destroyed cities' and countries' people, economies, monuments, and more. I want them to be punished for what they put us through because they deserve it. I wish they had money so that they could pay for what needs to be repaired. I grow tired of the endless cycle of disappointments; they are always in a such a time of joy, too.

    1. Us,Brits feel the same way! The Germans, Japanese, and Italians should be taken down hard. It is all their faults we got into this war anyways. I've been going through tough times after fighting in this war. There needs to be huge consequences to these evil people.

      Delete
    2. I could not agree more! Germany is getting off easily! Just thinking about the enormous amount of innocent people they murdered makes me sick. And also the fact that such a little amount of people got punished, how can you only punish 17 out of countless amounts of evil German officers? The same with the Japanese, only 7 people were punished! I feel as though there will never be a big enough punishment for what they have done. I'm really just glad its finally over.

Hitler is dead and the war is over!! Germany can once again be the beautiful country it should be! Once the Allies figure out what to do with us, that is. I personally like Democracy, like America. I think that they should just let Germany be, and we can elect our own president like how America’s elections are run! But, that would happen in a perfect world, which alas, we are not living in. I don’t think Germany should be punished, because it has already been destroyed and been through enough, don’t you think? I would like to be the president of Germany. If I were the president, all Nazis would have two choices: become bathroom attendants, (no tipping allowed either) or be put to death. There would be free ice cream and ale for all kind-hearted German citizens, especially those who were treated so badly by the Nazi party.
I don’t want Germany to be split apart, because the country is already in such a poor state and that may just become a total mess. I cannot currently control what is to be done with Germany, at least not until I am president. If my presidential plans don’t work out, now that the fighting is over I can finally open the tavern I’ve always dreamed about owning. (Das Boot!) Thank you for listening to my opinions, Haagen-Dazs Heineken is signing off. Peace, love, and ice cream to you all.

You are lucky everyone is backing down to you, because if everyone was not frightened of another world war, Germany would cease to exist. France will be the country that flourishes.

  37. Wilfred Jackson here for the last time! The war is finally over! All of it. 1st in Europe, then in Japan. Thanks to the atomic bomb & the help of our allies. Peace is finally here. Although there is still things we need to figure out. Like what do to with Germany and such. Since the war has ended, one of the best presidents of this country has died. Franklin Roosevelt was a great leader and all of America misses him dearly. But, he has been replaced with Harry S. Truman. A smart president who made the great decision of using the atomic bomb. If it wasn't for that decision, Charlie (Rosie's boyfriend) would most likely be dead right now which would be really sad. But not only Charlie, many more american lives would have been taken if we fought on the mainland of Japan. We lost about 50,000 men on a small island, imagine the mainland. The casualty rate would be absolutely devastating. Also if we would've waited longer those damn communists over in Russia probably would've split Japan with us. Anyways I am just glad we are not in physical war anymore. Although is seems like Russia might give us some problems in the future.

  38. FINALLY THIS WAR IS OVER!! This war was definitely the bloodiest and costliest war yet. Although I loved war and fighting before, this war completely changed my mind. At this point, I’m so sick of hearing about who’s invading who, who just got bombed, etc. However, I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of hearing that Germany has lost a war once again. I hate those filthy Germans. If it wasn't for them, this war wouldn't have ever happened! This war ruined a lot for me and my fellow British folk. I lost several friends during the bombings, and my wife is now deadly afraid of any loud noise in fears that it was another bomb. Hopefully this war was a lesson to everyone that WAR SUCKS! Man, I never thought that I would think that way, but now there’s nothing that I hate more.
They’re going have to make a lot of effort to prevent any future wars, because these damn countries can’t control their temper nowadays. Although I hate the Germans for causing this war, the last thing we need is for them to get angry over their punishment AGAIN. We should only make them pay a reasonable amount of money, along with the rest of the countries on their side. However, we should threaten them. We should tell them that if they start another war again, they’ll have to pay billions and billions of dollars. If they knew that they will be punished if they started a war whether or not they won, then maybe they’ll use their brains and not start one! Actually, I think that ALL of the countries should be threatened. Sure, Germany seems like the war-starter country right now, but who knows which country will play that role in 100 years! That atomic bomb shouldn’t be allowed either. Just the thought of innocent civilians being killed makes me sick- which is weird because like 20 years ago I was obsessed with killing anything and everything. Maybe all of the countries involved in the war can make a peace treaty or group, not like that’ll prevent anything.
Now that this war is over I’ve decided to change my life. I don’t know how I’m going to live, but I believe that this is what is right. My heart aches to announce this to you guys, but I am going to sell my laptop. Yes, me, the blogging addict is resigning. I’m just sick of sitting on my computer all day posting about the war. If you want to know what’s happening, look at someone else’s blog! I’ll probably give in in like a week or so, but for now, this is goodbye. Thank you for going through these wars with me!
    Until next time,

  39. Ciao, it’s Camilla Aldi with a final post for everyone because the war has officially ended! I want to be happy because the war is over because nobody else will get hurt, but the fact that so many of our people did get hurt makes it hard to be happy. I never thought that Italy, the greatest country in the world, could lose a war! My husband just mopes around all day complaining about all the damage our country might not be able to fix. I guess you always think that your government has an endless supply of money or something, you know? They are supposed to be more worried about the citizens, not the other way around. I just hope that we aren’t punished as badly as I heard the Germans are going to be punished. Just because we were on the same side as Germany doesn’t mean we were as harsh as they were during the war. Surely the intelligent men making the punishments will see that? Right?
I do believe that we should have to pay for the damages in our own country, but that is it. I mean, look what Hitler did to all those people in death camps, and Japan should not have to pay AS MUCH, because they already had an atomic bomb dropped on them, but they were warned… and if you go back, they did start the fight with America at Pearl Harbor, when they wanted to stay out, so you could say the USA was just finishing the fight. If only our great country could have seen this horrible out come of the war before it started, so we could have sided with the allies. Oh well, no use crying over a dropped bomb. We just have to accept that we lost, and start to rebuild our beautiful country. I’m sad to say that because the war is over, this may be the last that you here from me. I just wanted to see what it was like telling everyone my feelings during these huge world wars. I have grown so much in the years I have been doing this blog, and I have learned a lot. Thank you all for letting me share my thoughts with you.

This is it. World War II is finally over. I'll have everyone know that I lost my left eye recently during the Battle of Iwo Jima. I had two wounded Japs at my mercy and as I was about finish one off the other one shot me from behind and then died from his wounds. As I woke up in the infirmary, Augustine Platane said that when he found me it was the first time he ever say me cry. I understand why he rarely takes about me. He was there every time I flayed a Jap, or used them as targets while they were still alive, and when I put grenades in there mouths and watched them explode. Augustine, you are a true friend and I am thankful you stood by my side the whole way through. I am also sorry I nearly chopped your arm off with a chainsaw when you tried to stop me from using it to decapitate a Japanese Soldier. Anyway, hearing Augustine tell me that I had cried after being shot in the eye didn't shake me as much as when he told me that I deserved it.Thatt was a wake up call for me to stop being so damn brutal. It was time to accept that Abraham is gone. And as I look back at what I did I know that he would be ashamed at what I've been doing. No matter what atrocities the Axis had performed didn't give me the right to do the same. I was on a battleship in the distance and saw what happened at Nagasaki and Hiroshima. I was in awe and at those moments knew the war had to stop, and it did. I was awarded a Purple Heart and a Medal of Honor for my services and the remainder of my squadron returned to Massachusetts. When I got home, everyone was celebrating in town. As I entered the house, Angelique firmly beat me with a broom with tears streaming down her face. Then gave me the greatest 'Welcome Home' kiss I ever received in my life so far. I was happy to see Tobias for the first time since he was born when I left. He's four now and was very pleased to see his dad and yet confused to see that I had one eye. I hear that a trial is soon to be held in Nuremburg. Can't wait to see those Nazis get what they deserve!

Just like the rest of the world, it's time to rebuild, what was destroyed and myself. I have to prove that I have changed for the better and make things right. I volunteered to help Japanese-Americans move back to their homes, with some dirty looks here and there because people have heard through the grapevine of "Alexander:Terror of The Pacific". What's worse is that my eye patch and beard make me look like a ruthless pirate (I'm not shaving because this beard is glorious).I thought that I was avenging Abraham by killing those Japs, but I am truly avenging him by making peace with my former enemies. All of you who are reading this probably doubt that I can change so fast, and you're right. At first everyone could notice that I wasn't happy doing this, but seeing how happy and grateful the Japanese-Americans were to go back to their houses made me feel good. I won't lie, if another war ever comes I will be there to fight and protect, you all can be damn sure of that. But for now, it's time to settle in and be happy that I am home. Until there is ever a time that I need to raise my gun and fight, this is goodbye.

  41. I, Luis Smith, have gone through some horrible times in history. God bless us all, the war finally is over. I surely hope I won’t have to live through another war. Being a Navy officer during this time was very difficult. If the stupid Japanese never tried to come at our friends, the Americans, than the war would have ended way faster! America is one of the best countries in the world! (Not as good as the British). And, they don’t tolerate crap from other countries. They also get revenge easily, which caused the Japanese to be cowards and break their Bushido Code. The Japanese really should have surrendered months ago, especially since the Americans threatened something bad was going to happen to them. Well the Japanese didn’t listen to the warning which was a very stupid move. To end the war the Americans dropped a nuclear bomb that killed mostly civilians. That’s unfortunate for the millions of innocent Japanese, but they get themselves into this mess.
It’s so good to be home with my family again! My wife and I are expecting twins in three months. Life’s been good from winning the war. I can finally go back to my past time activities like stamp collecting, culinary art, and painting. I’m currently not working because fighting in the navy for the last two wars has really changed me as a man. I really can’t look at the world the same, but I’m thankful for everything that I have. Times have been tough, but I believe my life will turn around eventually. Every now and then I have flashes of bombs bursting around me and brothers dying around me. Britain didn’t only come into WW2 to take down Hitler, but to prove we are one of the strongest countries in the war. Winston Churchill taught us to never give up and stand strong together. Don’t stop believing!

  42. War has finally ended!!! Napoleon the 163rd here, and I would like to start off by saying that my whole family is so excited that the war is over. Most of France wants to punish Germany for everything that they did to our country. There is so much destruction and luckily, our house did not go down too. I personally believe that we should not punish the Germans as harshly as we did in World War I. I do not want to start another world war. They have been saying that they want to divide Germany into sectors. I am fine with that as long as there is no violence.
I still believe that France is the best country in the world, but Germany has proven that they can be dangerous. Also, I think that if we do the right thing, then it can prevent further wars and end Germany's continuous loathing.
On the other hand, I have heard that the fighting in the Pacific has also ended. Everyone is talking about the bombs that America dropped, but I believe that if I was in Truman's position I would have also dropped the bombs. The Japanese were not going to back down and the estimated death toll was going to be high. Overall, war has changed me. I used to think that fighting was necessary, but after seeing all the recent destruction all I want is peace for our world. I am going to sign off for good now, see y'all later

  43. It is safe to say the war is finally over! My boys are home from fighting, and my wife and I cannot be any happier. As a German citizen, I am ashamed to have been ruled by the one and only Hitler. I did not agree with the decisions he made in Germany. I feel as though Hitler ruined our country, and we are the ones paying for it. When the Russian’s invaded Berlin and were able to defeat Germany, I couldn’t be any happier. This reassured me that my family is safe, and the war was over. After the war was over, the Nuremburg Trials hadn’t done enough to punish the Nazis. The Nazis were responsible for the murdering of innocent people. After the war was over, many of the Nazis that were responsible were set free. They don’t deserve to see the light of day for what they have done.
The whole world has been affected by this war. There is nobody to take over Germany. Hitler is dead, America had defeated the Japanese, and they are the ones stuck cleaning up this mess. I would like to leave Germany since it is in such horrible conditions. If we stay in Germany, I don’t know what they will do with all of us. My wish is to have Germany become democratic. As we witnessed in America, that way of government succeeded. Well, I hope everyone enjoyed my blogs, and I wish to write to you all again soon.

  44. 1967, April 25th. Because it's not too hot, not too cold, all you need is a light jacket: The war has ended, I had just gotten news! Wow this is great news for me and my cat, we will have a feast of sand and sea water! Let me update you about my personal news first, then I will get to the politics (my personal life is much more important than world news.) So a few years ago I was sitting in my kitchen staring at the wall, drinking acorn coffee. Most people say that people would make their own kinds of food to give more money to the government, but I just like acorn coffee. I feel acorn coffee gives more of an earthy flavor than gourmet coffee does. I also get more connected with my roots, I believe we all have evolved from trees. Back to my original story, as I was sitting there, I heard a rustling noise in the bushes. I took my jukjangchang (if you don’t know what this is look it up because I will not tell you) and looked in the bushes. There I found nothing. But just the sound made me chilled to the bone. I decided to pack up all of my cats and move to Sangat Island in the Philippines. I figured who in the world would ever come here. I had a dream before I left that Hitler told me he hated the beach. So of course I had to go to an island. Once I moved here I took a little paddle boat all the way from Russia to here with my cats. It was mostly hard because I had no other person to paddle the other half of the boat. But once we got here I decided to relax. I made some friends too! I have four friends now, three are trees and one is a rock. We have heavy discussions about what is happening in the world at the time. Martin (tall tree) said he believes that because there are some shipwreck boats in the ocean there is fighting with Japan. Waldo (small tree) said he thinks Hitler killed himself because he didn’t like me and couldn’t bear to live on the same planet as me, as you can tell me and Waldo do not get along. Jose (dead tree) said the Americans dropped an atomic bomb on Japan because all the plants on our island are dying due to the bomb. Bernie (rock) mentioned that the major leaders are no longer in power except Stalin. As soon as Bernie mentioned Stalin I picked him up and there him into the water. Bernie is gone and I can live a happy life.

Oh back to politics! The other day my long lost half cousin four times removed came to my island for dinner. She mentioned that the war ended and I can come back to Russia and go to book club again. Also she said that this new thing a “Cold War” is happening. After explaining the topic of a cold war I told her I never want to go back to civilization again and everyone is being dummies including her because she didn’t bring any food for dinner. I made her get into her boat and go back to wherever she came from. Before she was too far I screamed out “WHAT HAPPENED TO GERMANY!” She looked at me like I was crazy and said “You decide.” Now living on an island with three trees and some dead cats leaves you a lot of time to think. My cousin said many counties could have a piece of it and live their own ways. I believe that there should be a worldwide law that fighting is never allowed and everyone lives their own lives and doesn’t care about anyone else. After two world wars you would think that countries would begin to start using their heads and say they are doing something wrong. Thankfully I have left civilization and living a happy life. Ooooooooo, Martin is calling me. We are having our first island book club meeting. Speak soon!

This is Giles Smith. The Stache is down! The stache is down! The stache is down! War is over and America is amazing at everything. Hitler is dead and so is the stache forever! The fighting in the Pacific is over and the dumb Japs are dead from Fatboy and Little man. As an American I think Truman made the right decision for dropping the bombs because the Japs were never going to give up because of the Bushido code. Now all we have to is settle of PEACE!!!!
In my opinion I think France and Britain should get power back and Churchill should get power. Germany should get split up and have no power because of those horrible Nazis. They killed over 12 million people in concentration camps and 6 million of them were Jewish. Japan is done they have nothing as of right now so we have one less thing to worry about. America, France, and Britain should have power, I don't trust Russia and Stalin. That's all for now by folks.

  46. HITLER IS DEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He committed suicide on April 30, 1945. Mussolini is also captured and killed. Germany surrenders on May 7th, 1945, and the war is over, but only in Europe. America showed up a few days later after dropping two atomic bombs on Japan, destroying huge parts of Japan and killing about 200,000 people. Japan agrees to surrender on August 14th, 1945.
Thank the Lord this huge mess is over. I look like a skeleton; I don’t have an ounce of fat on me. I can barely eat anything because I am so used to having nothing to eat. Everyone in my family is dead except for me. At least that’s what I’ve been told. I’m devastated, and that is an understatement. I have no reason to go on with my life except to tell people the stories of horrible things that happened in the concentration camp. Some days, we didn’t say a word or smile once. You’d be surprised how many times you smile throughout the day, we didn’t smile once. I feel so weird smiling so much now that I’m out.

Now that the Nuremburg trials are beginning, I think that peace will eventually be restored. I am glad that the Americans are taking control. I think that all of the Nazi’s deserve to be executed, even though it was the law to be one. The fact that they put us Jews and many other innocent people through the Hell we went through should mean that they should be killed for sure. The punishment that Germany should have is not much more than they already have. The Nazi’s will be taken care of, so that just leaves the innocent people of Germany. Hitler is already dead. Japan also shouldn’t have a punishment that is much bigger than they already have. The Americans have complete control over it. I think that in order to restore peace and order to the world, America should take charge. They should execute all of the Nazis and kill the Japanese people that plotted the attack on Pearl Harbor. I plan on moving to America to start a new life to try to get over all of this. I want to start fresh and live a happy life. Goodbye for now everyone!

The war is finally over can you believe it?! War here in Europe ended on May 7th and no one could be happier. The only thing left to determine is punishments for Germany and Japan. However, I think that what has already happened to Germany and Japan during the war is punishment enough. Their countries have been torn to bits and destroyed completely which is horrible enough, what else can they do?
There are still many things that need to be done in order to restore the peace and hopefully get the world back in order after this war. America and Britain have already started this process by holding the Nuremburg Trials. The Nuremburg Trials are trials held for those who took part in crimes even unsuitable for war. Only 17 Nazi commanders were punished for the horrible acts they committed which I think is much too small of a number. There were countless military members that took part in horrible acts and the fact that only 17 were punished is absolutely crazy. There were also trials in Tokyo held for the war in the Pacific. During those trials only 7 Japanese were punished. I think that this is a start to restoring peace throughout the world but there is so much more to be done. Something else that could be done to restore order to the world is keeping a close eye on Germany and Japan. We never paid much attention to either of those countries and that’s how all of this happened. We never saw them as a threat until it was too late so keeping them under constant watch would be helpful.
All in all, I’m so happy that the war is finally over and that my wonderful country can be restored back to its full potential. We’ve been through the thick and thin here haven’t we, I’ll sure miss talking to you all. I hope to write again soon!
    Farewell,

  48. Hello my friends of the world, this is Vincenzo D’Allessandros. But anyways now that the Second World War is over we can all life in something close to peace now. Hopefully all the nation will work together now a to help fix the world but I feel like that is far off especially with two opposite like America and Russia as the new world powers. Though there is most likely going to be more problems in the following years because we humans are mysterious beings. If only everyone would accept each other no matter what their differences were but heck that’s humanity and it will last forever. Well though all these blog post in my newspaper was fun and all I’m getting older and my brain cells are dying so I’m passing down this position of blog writing to a new pupil. But before I sign off for the rest of my years I shall let everyone know that I have been working in the politics of Italy and am working to help the government improve once and for all NO LIES.

  49. Dear Journal,
Oh journal! Sweet, sweet, innocent journal, I'm in a mental crisis at the moment; Mussolini has been assassinated! Oh the deep sorrow I feel cannot compare to the aching hearts of the millions who lost relatives in the war, but still, how tragic it is to see such a great man go to waste! The war may be over, but there are still many things to sort out. And could you believe that the British and Americans had the nerve to come and battle in Italy? We may have chosen the wrong side, but we were on their side at the beginning of the war! And its not as if we were like Germany(Hitler), of whom had camps just to exterminate groups of people that they found unideal! Those Germans even turned the other cheek to those camps, acting as if they didn't exist, how cruel! How can a punishment even be established in that situation? How far should we go to punish the Germans? Does being a mere German citizen account to committing a crime now? There must be justice to account for all that has happened, and clearly us Italians are not in anyway to blame, we have done nothing worthy of punishment! Not to mention, Hitler may still be on the loose! As if he'd commit suicide, men are too prideful for such a thing, especially considering how much power and money he has, he clearly could put on a disguise and sneak himself out of the country! I have even seen fliers of how he may look like now, so my thoughts are justified!
And the Americans! They just dropped not one, but TWO bombs on Japan! And they weren't regular bombs either, they were ATOMIC bombs! How could they do that to our allies? I do understand that they aren't as great as we Europeans, but they are going after the wrong place! What have the Japanese even done to you Americans besides bomb your precious harbor? Those Americans are much too impulsive and childish, dear goodness.
I believe for true peace, we must monitor those Germans closely, they have wronged us and caused disaster for much too long. Not to mention keep an eye on those Russians, they are much too suspicious, and how can we trust a man like Stalin with such a devilish grin and that mustache? I bet he has never even eaten spaghetti! We also must stop this appeasement policy, for good, we can not allow this to ever happen again, especially considering how awful these wars have been on our beautiful country of Europe! All this war has brought us is death and destruction, leaving everyone to cope with its true horror and rebuild the mess of the cities and lives that have been ruined.
I believe it is time to introduce "Dante" to the world again, but this time, it'll be much more like an open letter to Europe. It is about time I pass this on to my daughter as well, who is growing up to be a fine woman. I do hope she makes an impact as a writer, I feel she is destined for greatness, and perhaps she can lead us women into a new world where we all live in peace and are equal. But journal, I am growing old, I am not the young girl I was years ago when I started writing, so I believe this shall be our parting, but do not fret, I will pass you on to my daughter as well, and hopefully she will fill your pages with the marvelous thing that is the future of Europe. Viva Italia! Farewell my journal, as always, with love,
    Felicità De Santi (Sarah S.)

      Dear my daughter,
I have looked forward to giving you these pages since even before you were born, and I feel now that the war is over, and my time left seems to be questionable, you should know of the stories of how my life has been all these years. Having you children was one of the best things that had ever happened in my life, and I truly feel blessed that you all are alive and healthy, ready to make a difference and lead yourselves into the future.
In these pages I'd like for you to keep writing for me, but do not write to me, write to this journal, of which over the years has not failed to stay intact even once. But daughter, I wish for you to write about your journey throughout your years, and maybe, just maybe, one day you can pass this tradition to your daughter, and she can begin a new book, so our journey, as women, can be documented. We are strong, we are fierce, and we may not be treated with the same respect as men, but we can make a difference, and truly affect this world and take it by storm if we try.
And because the war is over, you do not have the need to find a husband and fight the battle of motherhood, do focus on your studies, and travel! I know you are too young at the moment, but when you are of age, hopefully the reconstruction of Europe will have created a beautiful paradise for you to go and explore, and share all the wonders of Italian cuisine. Ayaaa, I'm getting side tracked here! My age is clearly taking a toll on my train of thought!
But anyway, I want you to live your life to the fullest, and do what you love, and keep writing! You have such a knack for it as well, maybe one day you can be a great, like Shakespeare! But I love you dearly my daughter, and by the time you do get this book, I may have passed. I know you are upset, but do not fret, I am always in your heart, and the recipes are all on the bookshelf, next to your father's boxes. And please, do check under my mattress, there is something especially for you under there.
I love you my daughter, I hope you live your life to the fullest.
      With love, your mother,
      Felicità De Santi (Sarah S.)
or should I say the old Dante D'Attilio
P.S.You're destined for greatness, so follow your heart where it takes you! I love you very much! And keep an eye on your siblings and your father for me okay? You know how they can be! Stay the gorgeous girl you are, and be sure to pick up a man that you care about! Best wishes <3 <3

  50. Now, of course, you must hear from Peter Smith on his opinion of what must be done at the conclusion of such a devastating world war. Naturally, I am one of few who have the correct opinion in Flint, even my wife has been running around making the most disturbing brrrring noises and belting out some ridiculous song about a rose bush. She’s been working in the factory lately, and that seems to have given her some false sense of pride or independence. That must be eradicated very quickly. We lost our middle son, Lee, in the fighting at Okinawa, and our eldest is on his way home from Normany now. The youngest, Harriet was serving as an army nurse in North Africa before she moved with her unit in towards Berlin. I fought with each and every one of them when they first announced their desire to be active in the war effort. Clearly their mother and that Charlie character have polluted their brains.
Of course, none of this was the point of this particular post. What should we do with Germany you ask? Well they’re all a bunch of Nazis anyways, so I say we divide them up and drop them in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. We’ll give their land to Britian or France, I mean they’re at least sort of acceptable, even if they aren’t good Americans. Once we have all of them in there, we should just continue obliterating Japan with A-Bombs until the islands sink into the sea. This way, there are no survivors and no messy trials. After that’s been handled, America should withdraw safely into our own little bubble, killing as many Communists, Slavs, Italians, and Jews on the exit as possible, and then never have our troops leave our continental borders ever again. Honestly, Hawaii and Alaska can handle themselves. I’m hearing rumors about Germany being divided up between America and Russia, but that’s just preposterous, what would keep the peace, a Non-Aggression pact, Hitler already tried that, and it didn’t work. There are too many cooks in this kitchen; they should leave the heavy decisions to me. I mean, I clearly have been completely unbiased throughout the course of both of these crazy wars. Now, we can live the remainder of our lives in peace, of course, unless Truman finally takes me up on my request of dropping one of those A-bombs on my wife when she’s visiting her in-laws.
    (P.S.- yeah, I know it’s late…… sorry.)

DING DONG HITLER IS DEAD! This is such great news! As a German I look around and see a lot of destruction even to my own house but hey we're free! I have been told I will not be put on trial because the Americans (who I'm finally warming up to) believed me when I told them I hated this stupid 3rd reich. I still cannot believe I have lost my three oldest sons because Hitler decided he wanted everyone and their mother to join his pathetic little army. Because of him my home has been destroyed and my sons are dead but at least I am still alive with my four youngest and my wife. I am considering a move to America but I am afraid that I will be shunned because I am German and did not move before the war.
I cannot think of a suitable punishment for the Nazis and the Japanese. I think (after I move) we should just burn the countries with everyone in them. They are the pure essence of evil and cannot think of a punishment less than that for anyone supporting the Nazis or the Japanese. I mean please at least sentence them to life in prison if they are ever even allowed to see daylight again it will be an injustice to those who died. I really hope that Stalin's whole plan to kill a million Germans doesn't go through until I at least move I don't want to be killed for something that I didn't even do.
I feel so much sorrow for the poor Jews who have lost their lives over nothing. I was forced to walk through the concentration camps and I just broke down in tears. I saw my neighbors, friends, and their families dead. I knew they were forced to go to these camps but I did not realize what was going on. I think that at least a few people who supported the Nazis did not even know that this was going on because they were in tears too. I hope that the few good people left in this country are not wrongly put on trial. With that I sign off for the final time. Wish me luck with my move to America! (sorry this was late yesterday was my birthday and I completely forgot to do it).

    1. I hate Germans but I cannot fully hate you because you rejoice with me in the death of Hitler. However, I do not believe you Germans when you say you were unaware of the madness happeneing around you. What do they put in German food? Does it blind your people to the horrors and numb your noses to the smell? So while I do not fully hate you because of our mutuality on Hitler, I still stick with my idea of killing you people with the bomb. My advice, move to America.

Finally, the war is over, here in Michigan we were getting sick of half a puns of meat and 2 loafs of bread a week. My three children haven't got to live a childhood because of the compromises. I'm glad the ford factory will be put back into business, now that everyone needs a car after 7 years of doing the same thing over again (producing war machines). I do think that this war has done much good, and much bad for this world, but we got through it, and thats all that matters. Mr, Vand, and Keyl all now know what its like to do something you don't want to, but have to.
I heard the number of people killed in the bombings, its sad, but i think they deserved it, they weren't surrendering, and they committed inhuman acts against us and other countries , something had to be the ultimatum, and end this long long war.
From the 313 to the 508, everyone went through some tough times, but we cannot complain, we were the lucky one, the Gi's were out there either going though hell or getting killed. I'm thankful for everything we take for granted because one day it'll all be gone and you'll miss it more than ever.
i hope Hitler is getting his nuts cut off in hell right now because he is one of the worst people to ever live, besides my wife, her mother, and the person who told pontious pilet to kill jesus.
sorry for being late, it was a unseen family issue.
    peace out from the 313.

  54. For the second time my friends, VICTOIRE VICTOIRE VICTOIRE!!!! Will those Germans never learn anything? How many people have to die, how many wars have to be fought before Germany (as Russia eventually did) realize that France and Britain are the winners in Europe? This war was by far the nastiest, bloodiest war in the history of my life, I do not wish to repeat a third one. The world leaders need to do something to prevent this from happening ever again. But what punishment could be suitable and who is really to blame? When I think about it, we argued against whatever-American-president-it-was and his idea for a peace without victory. Never, we said. Revenge, we said, but that didn't get us anywhere. All it did was make our enemies poorer, angrier and hate us more; thus calling for more revenge. The result, a blood bath known as the second world war.
I cannot lie, I hate the Germans. They are disgusting pigs, especially for what they did to my beloved France. Mon Dieu! Poor Napoleon probably had a heart attack in his grave and died all over again. I certainly do not want to settle this peacefully but I do not want a repeat of what happened last time. On a completely different note, I am falling in love with the Americans all over again. They are so smart! Why didn't we think of that bomb. I could care less for the Japs, probably because they are not bothering France, but I heard they are even worse. Disgusting. Bon, the way the Americans completely dissolved Hiroshima and Nagasaki was wonderful. They taught those rock headed Japanese a lesson. To settle this war and truly punish the Germans, I suggest we just erase them off the globe completely. They have not done any good for us, and I don't think they ever will. Beside they wanted to do the same thing to the Jews so why not give them a taste of their own medicine? That will be by solution to this nonsense. Maybe there could even be fireworks as the bombs go off.
Bien. With everybody dead, including the leaders, I doubt the atomic bomb will be used. Besides, I doubt America would even want to share it with the rest of the world. If I Were them I would keep it hidden and use it whenever any idiot leader or country tries to start a war. With that friend I say goodbye forever. This is my last post. I am retiring because my heart and eyes cannot take anymore. I will settle here in France. I got to keep the job I had under the Nazis, so things are not that bad. Aurevoir tout le monde!!!!!
